Our stay at Tucker Hill Inn was amazing! Susan was the perfect hostess. Her recommendations on what to see, do & eat were spot on. Our family felt right at home. The gourmet breakfasts were the perfect start to each day. The restaurant wasn’t open for dinner when we visited, but the sample menus we saw looked very inviting. The gardens and grounds were beautiful. There were so many secluded spots to just sit and read or relax. There is even a “babbling brook “ nearby. When you visit this area, Tucker Hill Inn is the place to stay.
A beautiful setting with nice gardens and a small unheated pool. The rooms were very comfortable and well-appointed. The breakfasts which are included were delicious and different on all 3 days of our stay. Susan the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The location is close to town, hikes, and swimming holes. Highly recommend it!
Our entire experience at the Tucker Hill Inn was fantastic. The room (great bed!) was amazing as were the lounge areas and the Dining Room. Susan and Steve are amazing hosts and we look forward to coming back again.
This Inn was a wonderful find tucked into the valley between the mountains of Sugar Bush and Mad River Glen ski areas. It is so cozy and comfortable, with elegant furnishings and delicious food. We couldn't have asked for a prettier, more relaxing spot to spend some time this summer. The swimming pool was great and it was just nice to enjoy the lovely gardens. Waitsfield has the best brewery in New England according to our son, so that's a big plus too. The scenery in that part of Vermont is stunning and this Inn is in a perfect spot to enjoy everything this area has to offer. Steve and Susan were the perfect hosts and we look forward to a return visit.
We stayed at the inn for a family gathering, and it was perfect in every way. The rooms and common areas were comfortable, clean, and welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious, filling, and creative. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to nearby hikes in beautiful wooded areas, convenient to restaurants and shops in Waitsfield, and good proximity to longer, more challenging hikes. There were 18 people in our group, and when we weren't off on adventures we spent a lot of time together in the common areas of the inn. Steve and Susan were great at making us comfortable there -- attentive to our needs and always available to help with individual requests, while still making us feel that we had privacy and could hang out in a relaxed way. In addition to the breakfasts, we ate one dinner at the inn which was wonderful. We had drinks and appetizers in the pub (full bar) and dinner in the dining room. The food was excellent and the service was flawless (which wasn't easy because we moved around from table to table). Overall, the attention to detail and quality was outstanding. It was a wonderful weekend. Highly recommend, and I would definitely go back.
We were in Vermont for a family wedding. Tucker Hill was one of the places recommended to stay while in Vermont. It is a lovely Inn. Very warm and inviting. Steve and Sue were terrific hosts. Super nice to talk to. The breakfasts were delicious. Wish we could have had dinner there. It wasn't possible due to all the wedding festivities. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The Pub was very nice. We made some friends while having cocktails. Would highly recommend.
Went on the coldest night of year. Needed to keep coats on it was that cold in dining area. Carbonara was mostly pasta-very little pacentta and not enough sauce. One positive was waitstaff friendly and prompt. Seems to be a place on the downhill….
Great Inn. Great food! Breakfast is included and is a a culinary experience. The hosts are couple who are very involved and care deeply about the comfort of their guests!! We highly recommend the Tucker Hill Inn The Inn also has a restaurant/bar which we also highly recommend. Even if you don’t stay at the inn you should try to eat at the Tucker Hill restaurant!

My husband and I met Susan and Steve in May 2022 when we were looking for a restaurant to host our son's rehearsal dinner in Sept. Susan and Steve have to be the nicest couple. From the very beginning they were very accommodating and came up with a dinner menu that was fantastic. Our guests with dietary restrictions were taken care of no problem. The service was amazing. Everyone that attended couldn't get over how great the meal was and what a fantastic time they had. We also stayed at the Inn. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast, which is part of the room price, was absolutely delicious. If we didn't live 4 hours away we would be dining at the Inn all the time. Outstanding Inn and restaurant.
Innovative delicious and unique is how I would describe the Harvest dinner last night at the Tucker Hill Lodge. The only time I experienced a dinner like this was at the French laundry in California. Our first course was a butternut squash soup served with a homemade marshmallow and chocolate dotted with pumpkin seeds. Sounds strange but was absolutely delicious! The shaved brussels sprouts salad again unusual and delicious – not sure what the flavor was though? Even my husband who doesn’t like brussels sprouts love the salad. We all swooned over the white lasagna with a delicious cream sauce. by the time the Porchetta came, a generous slice of roast pork with creamy delicious sweet potato purée and a intriguing sauce I was getting full. But that did not stop me from devouring the apple crumble à la mode dessert – Yum! So if you need to have a gourmet experience, you need to go to one of their special dinners. The staff could not have been nicer, more efficient or or just friendlier. Kudos to Steve and to Justin who made our experience so wonderful. I look forward to our next dinner and can’t imagine they could be better than this one.
Wonderful, relaxing experience staying here as a mom & daughter team. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and the staff worked to ensure we were able to eat dairy free & gluten free, as requested. When it was pouring rain one day and we ran inside from the car with our hands full, the staff kindly opened the door for us! Really sweet couple. Would recommend!
We had the pleasure of attending a family wedding and planned to extend our trip to enjoy Vermont. We originally chose Tucker Hill Inn mainly because it was close to the wedding venue and had great ratings. . Our plans after the wedding were flexible and we considered moving to Stowe for the rest of our stay. We stayed at Tucker Hill the entire time and enjoyed everything the area had to offer. The owners of Tucker Hill, Susan and Steve are personable and super accommodating. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. When we ate breakfast it was deliciously prepared by Susan. . In between hiking, walking, biking and sightseeing we relaxed at the Inn. The Inn has beautiful outdoor areas and a pool. The sitting room is open and comfortable. We ate at several restaurants in the area but the hidden gem is the restaurant at Tucker Hill. Delicious food, properly prepared, and promptly served despite the number of people on the outdoor deck. Our server was knowledgeable and personable.Being in the service industry, we know how difficult it is to run a top notch operation. Susan and Steve are obviously dedicated to providing first class service so their guests can have a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Tucker Hill Inn.
Absolutely a must stay if you’re in the Mad River Valley. Susan and Steve, what can we say, you are true and generous professionals of your trade. Every aspect of our trip to your gem of a location was impressive. One of the most unique pubs we’ve ever been to, with friendly service and extensive wine and drink choices, along with tips on fun in the local area. The included breakfast was phenomenal, and thoughtfully created. The dinner: 5 stars. Exquisite and delicious. Ask for the Kenyon Farm Burger ! Everything from the pillows to the atmosphere to the landscape to the food and service are impeccable. You leave as though you’ve been friends with the owners for years. Miss them already. Can’t wait to return! Quintessential Vermont.
