Mouth watering pies! We had never tried pecan pie and LOVED it! Also had the apple crumb pie and devoured it. Rich in flavor. Excellent service, called in the order, it was made fresh for pick up. Cozy, charming store. Also grabbed some cookies and muffin!! Stop by soon.

Delicious food! Went in for a little post-lunch treat and left with some cookies and a loaf of fresh focaccia, because it smelled delightful.

La Strada bakery is one of those rare places where when you walk in, you just know whatever you order is going to be superb.

Wow. I wandering into here on a mellow Monday. Fresh focaccia bread had just come out of the oven and it filled the small shop with some wonderful scents. I purchased an Asiago bread and a pesto version as well. Both were extremely light and delicate. Extremely satisfying. Next time I'll try the calzones!

Is La Strada still open? The number has been disconnected.

Someone brought your pecan pie to our house for Thanksgiving. It was the best pecan pie I've ever had. And that crust...

Thrilled to be the fifth person to review this hidden gem in Waterbury. I have to admit that part of the allure was that there were no pictures on Yelp for this business (no longer the case). By the time I left this place around lunchtime I felt like I was part of the family. My three hour visit included a blueberry corn muffin, red pepper chicken risotto soup served with a fresh croissant, and coffee. All for $9. (note: cash only). The soup and croissant knocked my socks off. I had visions of Oliver Twist slurping up stew and saying, "please sir, I want some more sir." Mmm....just thinking about it now warms my stomach. Note: this place is no frills. Waterbury offers free community wifi but it can be spotty in this location. The charm of this place is definitely the outdoor patio and fact that you have to stroll through an alley to find it. Double note: they sell breads, gingersnap cookies, croissants and a few other baked treats. The owner told me that he has been operating via wholesale for years but just recently opted to open up for a mini café section. Hallelujah.

This place is so unique and lovely! The smell of the freshly baked bread is outstanding. The cookies were the best my boyfriend has ever had. Yes, that good. I gave my dad some of the bread I bought because I knew he would love it! This little shop is actually open surprisingly late! They don't accept debit cards, so bring cash or your checkbook! Next time we are in the area we will for sure stop by and try out some more delicious baked good.

La Strada is great, its a very small bakery with croissants, cookies, breads and also soups and calzones. Definitely a place I go to at least twice a week. I have had their ham and cheese croissants and the plain and they are yummy. I tried their bread a few weeks ago and was not disappointed. I have yet to try their soups but am planning to.

This is a great little bakery that maybe hard to find. It is located right behind the bagel place. But fear not, it is worth the around-the-corner search. The place is so small that it has a single table with two and only two chairs. They make and sell numerous kinds of bread, but you will fall in love with the croissants. Almond, plain and ham and cheese. Very Reasonable prices. Great little find in a great town, check them out.
