Fantastic liquors & drinks. Our server gave us some awesome suggestions for what to do & see in the area too! Loved it!
Beautiful tasting room and easy access if you're just passing through! There is plenty of parking and other things to do including a Cabot's creamery, a chocolate shop and a sandwich shop for lunch! The tasting room is small with a single counter for tasting and a wall of bottles for purchase but it's well worth the wait if needed. You can even sample the syrups while you wait for free! Our hostess was very informative about all of the spirits and very appreciative of each of her customers. She talked a bit fast but that's understandable in the environment, it's busy!! We each did a tasting, the special tasting and the regular, so we got to try almost everything! Our cabinet and fridge got a few new additions with the canned vodka sodas and a single barrel. I highly recommend a stop and a tasting of the Hopped Gin, whether you're a gin drinker or not!! We visited in August 2024.
My husband and I stopped in to do some tasting. Huntley was very gregarious and once she found out that we were from Maryland she told us that she was a Maryland transplant and still loved the Orioles! We tasted a lot of different things, from pure maple syrup to maple bourbon but our favorites were the maple cream and the maple bourbon cream. We ended up buying a box full of assorted bottles, and we even returned again before leaving Vermont for a few more purchases. We really enjoyed our visit.
We stopped in on a whim and are glad we did. My friend did the $5 tasting and tried some unique bourbon. I liked the cream liqueur, made with real cream. I found fancy maple syrup and the different colorations are from the syrup being aged in different barrel types. I fancied the bourbon barrel aged maple. We enjoyed talking to the staff members (owner?), who was knowledgeable and gave us interesting tidbits of history. Ask about how Smuggler's Notch got its name.
I really enjoyed my visit to the Smuggler's Notch Distillery in Stowe Vermont! The distillery is very well organized and nicely decorated. They have a lot of great options of liquor and gifts to choose from, especially if you like maple, which I love!! I ended up taking far more home with me than I planned on! The tasting was very good. They only charge $5 for it however I made the mistake when prompted for a tip on the tasting I hit 25% gratuity and ended up paying over $75 extra based on the several hundred dollars I spent in their store not just on the $5 tasting! Oh well, a lesson learned to pay closer attention to signing receipts nowadays. The service was pleasant and helpful, so I have no complaints. It was a very enjoyable experience overall!

Visit this place! Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable! Great spirits. We bought some to go!
Visited here in the autumn of 2019. It was a wonderful experience and I remember picking up a bottle of their Dead Buck bourbon which has remained in my absolute top spot of all time for a number of years now. If you have the chance to visit, you absolutely should.
Excellent tasting experience and great customer service! A wonderful place to get local gifts.
We happened upon this distillery after visiting the Cabot Cheese store and we are so happy we did! We did a $5 rum and whiskey tasting and wound up purchasing a maple liquor that I’m so excited to put out for Irish coffees on Thanksgiving!

Great value in the tasting! The lady was super friendly and impressive to take care of everyone without feeling rushed.
Came in, asked to do a tasting, was promptly ignored while the employee served several other customers without acknowledging me.
Very nice and friendly service with a cute outdoor setting if you want to sit outside.
More of a tasting room, not sure if the distillery is on site. pay $5 for a tester of the vodka. They did have free samples of their barrel ages maple syrup and some on sale so we went home with that.
