Got there around 3-4 on Friday afternoon, it was not that busy but they were short staffed. It took quite a while to get us seated and for our order. If in a hurry check for their serving time and decide accordingly. The food was good. Got a 16 inch half and half BBQ chicken and better buffalo, both were good. The garlic bread was okay. The onion rings were great.Ordered all the four desserts on the menu but they were out of creme brulee. If you are going for brulee make sure to go early when they open. Rest of the cheesecake, fried dough bites and peanut butter pecan pie was average.
Their pizza crust is excellent, fresh and chewy. They have a good kids menu for picky eaters, including chicken fingers and Mac and cheese. Pizzas are generous portions and can be made to order. Root beer floats were a hit! Staff was very accommodating. Cocktails were also delicious.
Excellent food and service! Our server, Taylor, said she’d just started, and already seemed like a seasoned pro — even got my dad to try something new! All of our pizzas were great, and the spinach artichoke dip was killer!!
Everything was solid, great drink selection, good prices, large portions, and good service. I have no idea why chilis had more people eating there, instead of here!
It was a very busy evening but it didn’t stop the servers from being attentive. We started with the Thai wings. They were delicious! My husband had the Vermont Cheesesteak. He really enjoyed it. I had The Gatherer Salad with salmon. The salad was delicious however, the salmon was over cooked. We really enjoyed the evening.
Friendly staff but under-staffed like everywhere else. Pizza toppings good but crust was meh. Decent selection of beers and cider. Best food was sides - caesar salad, fried curds and wings were delicious.
We are from FL but travel for work. We have been a few times for dinner while there, pizza is normally really good, sometimes a little darker than preferred. Staff is nice and do their best when not enough staff some days. Love the pizza options. They have a really detailed drink list which is wonderful. Only real issue was the broken glass case inside the entrance as well as all the stuff kinda all over sometimes.
The staff was absolutely amazing for our event tonight. Food was great and everyone had an fantastic time. Highly recommend!
Went to vt tap house yesterday with a friend and it was awesome! Delicious food and waitstaff was awesome! Feel so bad for everywhere being understaffed! we were patient and understanding! Love it all!
This a convenient place to eat by ourselves or meet with friends, so we've been here quite a few times. The food here is quite good... pizza and a wide variety of other yummy things. We'll continue to enjoy theis fine establishment...
Restaurantji Recommends
The restaurant carpet looked like it had been vacuumed in days, the bathroom was a disaster, the wait staff just hung out at the hostess station talking instead of attending to their patrons, the hot water for my tea was luke warm at best. 3:30 in the afternoon and it took forever to get out food. This place used to be pretty good, but would definitely not recommend it anymore. Three small pizzas, one sandwich, three appetizers and 6 non alcoholic drinks, $140.00. Feeling pretty ripped off!!!
Some visitors may call the Vermont Tap House slow in terms of service. I like to say relaxed...seriously, what's the rush in enjoying spectacular food and drink with friends? (And read on, to see how we put the service to the test!) After visiting another downtown Burlington "icon" the previous night, and leaving disappointed, I was hesitant to bring our out-of-state guest to another pub-style experience. However, the Vermont Tap House delivered on a unique and spectacular Vermont dining experience that will be remembered! Leaving the trappings of Church Street behind for a late day flight from BTV, we chose Vermont Tap House for a hearty afternoon lunch/dinner. A ten-minute wait for a table was worth every minute. We sampled brews while perusing an intriguing menu of appetizers, sandwiches, and pizzas -- along with daily specials. We settled on Chicken Pesto Cavatappi (specials menu), Roasted Pork Sandwich with Apple Chutney and Slaw, and a Vermont Cheesesteak, and not a bite was bad or wasted. It's difficult to choose the highlight of the meal because each was delicious in its own respect. The grilled chicken with the pasta was juicy and bathed in a deliciously delicate pesto that was both satisfying and subtle. With a mix of roasted vegetables stirred through, the dish was lunch perfection. The roast pork with apple chutney, likewise, was juicy and sweet, and we complemented the fries and sandwich with a splash of house BBQ sauce that only added to the savory pork. The Vermont cheesesteak was melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with caramelized onions and more cheese than a Cabot outlet store. Our server, Shirly C, was attentive and friendly...and as for that "slow" service, when our airline called to put us on an early departure, Shirly made sure we were out the door and on-time with no delay. The Vermont Tap House is a gem on the outskirts of Burlington and worth the drive from downtown and with one of the top dessert menus in the state, there are plenty more reasons to visit! We'll be back to give the sweets a try.
The food here is always excellent. They didn't have them on the menu the most recent time, but they have Perch fingers that are excellent. I personally enjoy the Carolina Gold chicken sandwich. Their pizza is good as well. Overall it's an excellent experience and if you are looking for a non-chain place to eat in Williston I recommend giving this place a try.
The Thai chicken wings are sooo good. My husband burger was one of those that once you pick it up, you can't stop eating it. The rest of our family had the Greek Pizza and it smelled wonderful. We always enjoy coming here.
Great meeting place, always good food. This has been a go-to for a long time. Great beer selection, wood fired pizzas, lovely atmosphere, and not much of a wait. Try the deep fried cheese curds!
