I've been to La Salvadorena many times. This is in the top 3 of all the mexican restaurants I've been to in Washington, hands down. Fantastic food, good prices, and nice staff.

I did not care for the food. Rice and beans were bland. The bottom layer of the pupusas was hard to cut thru. Had to wait for them to sog out a bit from the sauce to cut thru easier. The lady who took our order/served us what not rude but her customer service was lacking.

Food was ok. Came because of a recommendation. Removed stars because when I checked the receipt the price was more than the listed price on the menu. Strike one. Then I asked what the mystery fee on the receipt was. Turns out they up charge for takeout & if you use debit. There was no signs anywhere stating this & no mention by the poor girl at the register. She was sweet and had to ask the management why.if I had known I would have paid cash. Hidden fees are a big pet peeve of mine. I'm glad the government is taking on this situation currently. A simple sign at the register would have been a clear way to signal to their customers. Instead of finding out after I paid and got a bit disappointed.Ruined my experience unfortunately & depending on how the laws are written may now be illegal.. may think twice about returningVegetarian options: LorocoParking: LotsWheelchair accessibility: A low curb out front

This was our first time eating Salvadoran food and we loved it! The pupusas and plantains were especially good, and we got delicious warm chips and salsa soon after sitting down. Good portions and good prices. Highly recommend!
