I've been there to have a clam chowder soup but for my surprise it came with the shelf, what for me was disgusting. So I just had the juice and when I suggested to the waiter they should have both options, with and without shelf, he just answered me "yes, it is some work but most people have fun removing the shelf. We leave the shelf to show they are fresh." Sorry, they should be fresh with or without shelf. It would be a tasty soup if they haven't created a soup with shelf.

We stopped here on a recommendation and I'm glad we did. We popped in for lunch, and although apparently the clam chowder is superb, opted for the shrimp toast and duck toast dishes. Both were excellent, and immaculately presented. One of the best lunches I've had in a while. Service was fast, courteous and friendly. Fully recommended.

The cooks are not wearing gloves in the kitchen with ready to eat food, I saw the cook making salad with out gloves, which is against health code and could get people sick.

Good beer on tap selection and excellent service. Onion soup was different, bready and too much cheese. Fried squid was OK, ink based sauce helped but spicing overall was dull. Nice atmosphere and good beer makes up easily for food.

All that is good meets on your plate here. Always outstanding service from the welcoming staff. The fireplace will be on, it will be cozy but can get a bit noisy. This place is popular for good reasons. Make a reservation!
Dietary restrictions: Able to accommodate gluten free for many/most dishes. If you’re celiac just know the fries share the frier with scotch egg.
This place is probably my favorite in anacortes. My partners parents were in town so we made reservations for the 4 of us. First, I loved how they called us to see if the dinner was for a special occasion (it wasnt). Then as soon as we sat down our waitress came over to say hi and acknowledge us, then let us get settled in and look at the menu. The food and drinks were delicious. If an item was ready but our waitress was serving another table, some other staff would bring it so everything was prompt. Just a really great experience overall.
