Excellent staff doing great work whilst being treated poorly by nasty, sometimes clueless, customers.Recommend the #2 panini sandwich with a glass of house white wine. For safety order two glasses of house white wine... it's a very busy cafe.Make sure you have plenty of time before your ferry. Missing out on that panini would be a bummer.HINT: know what you want before you get to the counter for everyone's sake. The menu is on the wall... right up there... just read!

Unfortunate for an establishment that calls itself a cafe to not serve real half n half. Providing pourable half n half saves coffee customers from having to use serval prepackaged plastic containers. Odd for a cafe on the water to choose the environmentally damaging option. Not good sandwiches. Go with the chowder. Overall, I don’t understand why a location that receives so much traffic doesn’t have better quality. It’s a shame there isn’t a place for food trucks to serve the people waiting in line. I think the competition would be helpful.Always best to make time to get takeout before getting in line.

The staff is great here!!! Thanks for doing what you do! Coffee is really good…only suggestion is that when we order a 16 oz, try to fill it to 16 oz. The one in the picture is pretty low on the fill. Otherwise, thank you, nice work for the ferry system!!!

Provisions Cafe is the perfect place for lunch or a treat while waiting for your ferry. My cup of Ivar's chowder was both nostalgic and deeply satisfying. So good! Having a cup of chowder is a must when visiting the Pacific Northwest. The screened-in deck is an awesome spot to enjoy your food while smelling the sea air and taking in the beautiful view. The service is fast and friendly. The ice cream cones look amazing. So, if you are waiting for a ferry here I highly recommend that you give this place a try.

This cafe is pretty standard, but it’s good if you are waiting for the ferry and need something to eat or snack on. Don’t expect to be blown away by the food, it will fill you up but it’s nothing special. Next time we ride the ferry we will come better prepared.

Been stopping here for years on my way home and a new face kyle only gives me half a cup of chili. I don't pay for half a cup i pay for a full cup.

Great for your basic provisions. Bagel, breakfast sandwich, and coffees - all were fast!

The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered Ivar's clam chowder and a bunch of Panini's. It was perfect to have the warm sandwich and chowder on a very blustery day. My husband ordered a mocha and he loved it. They added whipped cream!

Some employees were not wearing masks. Giant electrified sign and signs on ever door clearly states masks are required while in doors. Given how critical health and safety is for ferry crews and given the sheer amount of general public coming through, you would think this would be taken much more seriously. Given the crew shortages resulting in boats unable to make scheduled routes, this needs to be strictly enforced.

Temporarily closed, it says. So, the 9am ferry to the San Juan Islands had mechanical failures. Next one leaving 3 hours later at 1155am. Umm...ok.... Asked the ticket guy it there was food at the terminal and he said there was a sandwich kiosk. But never said it was closed. Walked over to said kiosk, named Provisions Cafe, and lo and behold, no provisions. Imagine that! A 3 hour wait and no food other than a vending machine. Why in gods name is the cafe closed and why isn't that mentioned at the gate or on the WSDOT website? Relatively import info you'd think, ya? Gotta say, the WA ferry system is a great idea and a terrible reality. PS I realize this is a review for both the cafe and the WA ferry system. The two are intertwined however so it's difficult to leave the ferry out of the picture. Someone needs to fix this failing gem of WA.
