We just had dinner at the Rockfish Grill and it was a genuine delight. They were busy! It seemed there was a winemaker dinner in the back half of the restaurant plus a general dinner crowd. The host let us know it’s busy but with patience it’ll all be good. He was right. Our server was pleasant and attentive and our dinner was excellent. I had Rockfish Florentine, my guy has the Crab macaroni and cheese. They both were finished in the wood fired pizza oven and came with freshly cooked asparagus that couldn’t have been cooked more perfectly. I’ll be thinking about that Florentine for a long while.

Definitely a local favorite bar. The counter was packed on a Monday night. The servers were very welcoming and attentive. The food was okay - a bit pricey for what tasted like pre-made, frozen fare. But props for having gluten free options! The person I was with rated their gf pizza very highly.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options, including pizza crusts

We went for my birthday. After we got our menus, the waitress came and took them back and gave us dinner menus. It was shortly after 3. The price difference for the exact same meal was over 10 bucks. It was not busy or crowded. Service was ok, not great. The fish was over done and the coleslaw was horrible. I had heard great things about this place so I was seriously disappointed. Hoping it was just a fluke, but I doubt I will go back.

It’s a little overpriced… let me break it down. Small cup of soup that was pretty dang good but seriously small… more like a shot of soup that was $8 The $10 kids pizza was okay. $8 Cider was good. But a $19 dollar kinda bland fish sandwich was annoying. Turned out to be a $60 lunch with the $10 gratuity that they spring up on you with a total party of 7. And the extra $4 charge for using a card plus the tax…. So a bit overpriced … service was okay the guy seemed a bit grumpy. Could we have just gone to chipotle… yes… which I think we will do next time.

The food was solid, but what really sets this place apart is the excellent service and impressive house-made beer selection. I had the bowl of chili, and my wife had the clam chowder. The chili was a bit on the watery side and lacked a strong chili flavor, and my wife found the clam chowder to have a similar consistency. However, the pretzels with beer cheese were fantastic, and the variety of in-house beers is surprisingly large for such a small restaurant. To top it off, the cheesecake brownie was absolutely out of this world! Oyster shooters were fresh but at $5 a pop, quite pricey.

Vegetarian options: Chili was vegetarian.

Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and kids menu

Wheelchair accessibility: It is accessible by w/c. No stairs at entrance.

Good service, but way over-priced! Paid $60 for 2 burgers that had an upcharge for cheese, bacon, and salads. Requested med-rare and were well done (this was the second time this happened). Automatically added a charge for using a credit card (which we paid cash) and added a take-out fee. So sad because it was one of our favorite places to visit, but likely won't return.

I am a listener of KISM FM 92.9 and I heard that there was an event to help the homeless. Basically, eat at participating restaurants and part of the proceeds would go to help the homeless.

One of those restaurants was The Rockfish Grill in Anacortes.

I’ve been here before and usually order their pizza. It’s very good pizza and I enjoy it a lot!

However, today I chose to eat their Etouffee. My wife and her family are from Northern Louisiana and she introduced me to Crawfish Etouffee and it has been a favorite of mine ever since.

The Rockfish Grill makes their Etouffee with shrimp. Almost as tasty as the crawfish version when done right! The Rockfish Grill definitely does it right!

They have an island of rice sitting in the middle of a bowl of the Etouffee that is chock full of andouille sausage, shrimp, onions, and other bits of goodness.

The wait staff was very friendly and I was able to keep myself entertained by checking out all the wonderful decor and watching one of the tv’s around the bar.

I always enjoy my visits to The Rockfish Grill and look forward to my next visit.

We came in about 2:30 in the afternoon, so it was rather slow. The server was very prompt and friendly and made us feel very much at home. We ordered the halibut and chips. That was probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Even the coleslaw was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Excellent food, I had a half rack of their barbecued ribs and I didn't even come close to eating half of it. I took most of it home. 😀 Just before we left the waiter came over with a sample of their jalapeno margarita. It was actually very good.

The ghost pepper fish bites are excellent and the clam chowder is really good! BUT, the beer is average, hence 3 stars. Ordered a flight and nothing was great, all pretty average. I'd give the Deception Pass Pale Ale 4.1 stars, it's their best beer in my opinion. Atmosphere is a little "Diner-ish."
