Food took forever and they ran out of fries before we got our order but everyone was friendly and the place had an awesome vibe and the bartender made me a really delicious mocktail because I can't drink.
Seriously, this place is one of the coolest venues Ive ever been to. Great sound and atmosphere. Killer food (get the steak, it rocked my world and the mashed potatoes made me cry they were so good) and wonderful, kind staff. And there’s a tattoo parlor in the basement and a full on apothecary next to the stage. Go. You won’t be disappointed.

Very impressed! First ever "drag show". Entertaining, and food was great (ordered way too much!) Wife an I ordered wings, salmon dip, and sweet potato fries. All was very good ... especially sweet potato fries!!!!!
The food was ok, but we were very hungry. Didn't feel family-friendly, but we didn't know it was more of a bar with a stage for live music. It's probably an alright place for adults without kids. We noticed what looked like a pubic hair in our food. By the time we noticed it, we had eaten most of it the appetizer it was in. I've never had a pubic hair in my food in other places... ever. Could have been a pit hair, but just the thought of a hair coming from anywhere is disgusting, especially if it is not a hair from someone's head, but other body places. We weren't going to say anything, but felt gross and more so that we ate the food.

I was so disappointed in the Mirkwood last night. A group of us went for open mic night to watch our friend perform. Open mic night is advertised from 7-10pm. We arrived at 7pm and my friend was the first person that signed up on the sign in sheet. When we first arrived the host/MC was on the stage with another band member playing some songs. Then a band played for a bit, then a guy with a guitar played, then the drummer for the host/MC's band attempted a comedy routine. By now it's 9pm and they still haven't announced my friend. Then the host/MC's band starts to set up. I double check the sign in sheet. There is my friends name, at the top of the list, there are only two other names on the list, yet somehow we've been there for two hours, seen three acts and not one of them was my friend and now the host is about to take the stage with a full band with only an hour left and very few people left in the audience. I've put up with the poor service here for a while because the food is good, but snubbing my friend is not something I'm willing to overlook. Doesn't seem like a good move in a small community to snub one of only three people that signed up for your open mic. I was kinda looking forward to coming to karaoke and more open mic nights but I think I'm done giving the Mirkwood chances.

Great place. The menu is smaller than what is represented on the website, but good food and drink. Very veg friendly. All the queer punk hobbits out there will love it.
