This is review is for the Bunkhouse food. We always stop here for a milkshake when going to Mt. Rainier. I think they have the best Huckleberry shake anywhere around the mountain. It's usually pretty busy and I wish they had more seating, but we will always stop here!

Rented the cabin off site. Was a great place. Private. 3 beds with a full kitchen.

Perfect place for accessing the national park! I checked in after a long day's hike to relax, and it was convenient to head back up to Paradise the next morning. My room at Whittaker was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The room rate was reasonable.
Delicious ice cream in the front office/cafe, convenient parking, and easy check in/out. I'll definitely be back for my next adventure at Mt. Rainier.

If you are looking for a place to stay near Mt.Rainier NP without breaking the bank, this might be a good option for you. The location is great and having a bar/restaurant on site is a nice perk.
Just some things to consider...
I know part of the charm of this place is "roughing it" so when we arrived and realized there was no TV in the room, my reaction was "okay, oh well". But my wife and I arrived to a hot room with no air conditioning and two small fans. Both were caked in dirt/dust and one didn't work.
Upon further inspection of the bathroom, shower and toilet were in desperate need of a good scrubbing. Water temperature and pressure were inconsistent. Ive taken better showers at backwoods campgrounds. The cherry on top was the rock-hard beds that prevented us from getting a good night's rest.
TLDR - probably best to spend a few extra bucks for 21st century amemities and a clean room somewhere else, but to each their own.

I stayed there several times and a perfect for a launch to the mountain. A great place to get a hamburger and a beer on the way back. Great place for a hot chocolate and the way to Rainier.
