This will be a tradition for my family. I don’t remember the last time I had such delicious food. And the way it was plated made it even more enjoyable. Very nice staff too. That’s a chille relleno in the photo.

I am writing to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to La Rioja Mexican Cuisine.
I was disappointed to find that the food quality has declined significantly and no longer matches the standards of the original recipes. During my visit on a Friday evening, the restaurant was nearly empty, yet the staff appeared stressed and disorganized.
I hope the new administration will take these notes into consideration and work to restore the original flavor and service quality that the restaurant was known for.
I recommend the restaurant 100% quality, with good customer service, the place very cozy especially when you want to relax they receive you with a smile, the food very delicious I recommend them excellent place, I recommend stuffed chilies and roast meat was what we ordered and horchata water and dessert, coffee flan.

Visited Seattle for the week and our family of 20 enjoyed every bite of this place. The place was beautiful and the food was beyond. Thank you

This used to be a go-to spot for me, but since the new ownership took over, it’s been a letdown every time.
On our last visit, we waited over an hour and didn’t even get our appetizers. Service was unorganized and there was no communication. This was my third time back (including takeout), and each experience has been worse than the last.
I gave it multiple chances hoping things would improve, but unfortunately they haven’t. Between the long waits and decline in quality, I won’t be returning.

Was expecting more for the price…we got 2 appetizers, receive no extra plates to eat with, only got one small fork and 1 napkin for each person. The food tasted great and the portions were big, the server wasn’t really attentive which would be expected if they are going to have a 18% service tip already included with just 4 people or more. Y el zapatero no llegó para hacer la chancla… 🙂↔️

They were out of most of the stuff on the menu. One of the dishes was served Luke warm. They were out of tea, Horchata and no alcohol. Chips were stale and it was very expensive for mediocre food. We will not be back.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants — a place that once felt like home. Unfortunately, after the change in ownership, the experience has been extremely disappointing.
We waited nearly an hour just to be seated and attended. Service felt disorganized from the start. Appetizers were brought out without plates, leaving us unsure how we were expected to eat.
I ordered a ribeye gordita, and the presentation was unacceptable. The meat was simply piled on top with no care, no balance, no garnish, no sauce, and no cheese. The dish looked rushed and poorly executed. Considering that prices have increased, the quality and service no longer match what is being charged.
It’s honestly sad to see a place that once had so much heart lose the care and attention that made it special. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously.

We were extremely disappointed with our Valentine’s Day experience at La Rioja. It was nothing like what we had come to expect in the past.
It is clear there has been a change in management and staff, and not for the better. The hostess struggled to communicate in Spanish and kept mixing in English words throughout the interaction. In a restaurant that presents itself with strong cultural roots, that lack of fluency and professionalism was surprising and off-putting.
What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication regarding reservations. Apparently reservations were required for Valentine’s Day dinner, but nowhere was that advertised. Not on social media, not on their website, and not posted anywhere visible to customers. That is a major oversight for one of the busiest dining holidays of the year.
To make matters worse, they ran out of chips by 7 pm. We also overheard staff mentioning they had run out of guacamole as well. On Valentine’s Day, one of the most predictable high-volume restaurant days of the year, running out of basic items like chips and guacamole shows a serious lack of preparation and planning. Holidays like this require extra inventory and staffing, not the bare minimum.
The entire experience felt disorganized, underprepared, and poorly managed. Valentine’s Day is meant to feel special, and this felt anything but.
Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning.

This place is absolutely amazing. Some of the most authentic Mexican food I have had in this state, along with some of the best guacamole. Everything we got was delicious and cooked to perfection, the service was excellent, and to top it off the decor and atmosphere was so cool. I will definitely be back to try more things.
