We went with a big group of 8 people around 2 pm on a Sunday. It was still busy and I only saw two servers, but they managed to arrange a table for all of us, which I really appreciated given how small the restaurant is. I also liked that they have a self-ordering system on a screen, which made things quicker.

The food leans on the sweeter side, but we still really enjoyed most dishes. My favorites were the Crispy Fried Pork Riblets, Lao Spicy Sausage, Somtam Thai, Laos Fried Rice, and Nam Khao. The Pad Thai was too sweet for my taste, the Beef Jerky was too hard and chewy, and the Fried Chicken Wings came out too dry.

Still, overall it was a good experience and I’d come back if I’m in the area.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent even with how busy it was. Although they seemed a bit understaffed, the team handled everything with professionalism and care. Very impressed, shout out to Sean and Siobhan for taking care of us and making my grandmas birthday enjoyable.

They are very slow in getting your food ready. It seems that they are trying to figure out the logistics in the kitchen . The food is not bad.

My mom and I were greeted by a female employee who let us know that we could have a seat anywhere we liked. There were four tables occupied it seemed like and a person ahead of us was there for pick up. We chose a booth and got waters and menus. I got the Sweet Rice Mix Plate while my mom got the pineapple fried rice with chicken and 2 stars for the spice level. I also asked for the pandan mango sticky rice for dessert.

We got the pineapple fried rice first which was surprising but the mix plate came a little afterwards. We were also surprised with the complimentary fried chicken skins which wasn't even on their menu but it was delicious. The pineapple fried rice was a bit too salty and oily for my mother's taste but I enjoyed it, though I will agree it was a bit more oily than I would like. As others have mentioned, the sausage that comes on the mix plate is the star of the show and you can just taste all the seasoning and herbs put into it. Absolute umami bomb! The other meats were too dry for me and it gets tiring on the teeth so had to take them home. The sweet rice that comes with the mix plate was also way too dry for our taste and that was the one thing we did not pack up. The pandan mango sticky rice was refreshing but I feel the sticky rice and mango ratio was off as we had a lot of rice leftover. The mangos were ripe and the sticky rice for this one was a better texture than the one we got with our meal.

The service here was stellar. Our waitress checked in on us often and had a positive attitude with other customers as well. Thanks to Siobhan and Giselle for being amazing servers!

The ambiance here is pretty decent but definitely can use a touch up as there were some areas that need to be repainted and definitely could use a bit more to make the place pop! The ceiling is very modern feeling though so it has the right ideas but just a little bit more work! The lady's restroom was also pretty clean when I entered too!

Great place to get Laos or Thai food in auburn. A huge menu with a large variety of tasty authentic food items. The service was amazing, very attentive and friendly. I felt at home. The food was amazing, lots of flavor that gets you wanting more. Food wasn’t too oily or salty. The portion sizes were huge too! I highly recommend and would come back!

The place was clean, the service was friendly and the food was delicious! We would definitely come back!

The pho lao was yummy and didn't really need any additional seasonings. We ordered the medium platter and it could probably feed 3 people.

First time dining at Sweet Rice. Upon submitting my order (3 main dishes, 1 salad dish) original estimated time of completing the order was about 25 minutes. First dish came 10 minutes late, final dish came 50 minutes later. The restaurant may have been shorthanded, they had an average 4-6 pick up customers waiting in the restaurant during my visit. I think I was in the restaurant for almost 2 hours. Customer service was decent, but I'm sure they were stressed and backed up.

Food was really good.

For sure a revisit.

If you're a fan of mango sticky rice like I am, do yourself a favor and try it from this place! it's hands down my all-time favorite. The mango is always perfectly ripe and juicy, and the sticky rice is soft, slightly warm, and soaked in just the right amount of sweet coconut cream. It’s the perfect balance of flavors, textures, creamy, chewy, and fresh.

To top it off, their Thai tea is just as amazing! Rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. I keep coming back for this combo—it never disappoints.

Seriously, 10/10. If you love Thai desserts or want to try something new, this is a must!

The pork riblets were seriously amazing! super flavorful and perfectly crispy on the outside. The Lao sausage had that perfect mix of spices, and the Lao platter gave a little bit of everything, which is great if you want to try different things. The mango sticky rice was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal.

I left full and happy, already thinking about what I’ll get next time. Totally recommend!

I love their Lao platter! Surprisingly, it’s not listed on the paper menu, so here’s a heads-up — it’s $60 per tray. It’s meant to serve three people, and we were absolutely stuffed with just two of us sharing it. The wait time is pretty long, but it’s okay, I believe they make it fresh and the platter takes time to put on.

My favorite items were the pork ribs and the nam khao — both were incredibly flavorful! To top it off, they gave us a free mango sticky rice dessert. It was delicious — the sticky rice had a lovely pandan flavor. Major points for the service!

I’ll definitely be coming back. Next time, if it’s just the two of us, I’ll stick with the pork ribs and nam khao — the full platter is a bit too much for two.

If you’re coming with a group, though, the platter is a fantastic option. It’s super satisfying and lets you sample everything, like you’re at an Asian street food festival.

Our total bill was around $75 before tip.
