I was obsessed with this place because of Instagram! So when visiting Washington, naturally I had to try it. I ordered the pork XLB, spicy chicken dumplings, sticky pork ribs, chocolate mochi dumplings with sea salt caramel cream, chicken with noodles, and sea salt foam iced tea. My husband had the noodles and chicken and thought it was good. My highlights for the meal were the pork XLB and the sticky ribs. Everything else was over hyped and the food was expensive. Would I go here again, maybe. I ordered take out here! The plaza gets very busy so it can be hard to find parking and the wait time for table seating was also very long

You make a reservation. You are notified your table is ready. You check in with the hostess. She points to a bench and tells you they'll call your name when your table is ready. You wait another 15 minutes. Every single time.

As an omnivore, I am familiar with DTF’s robust and extensive menu. Their specialty is their soup dumpling, which has a delicious broth within them. My main problem with DTF is their lack of vegan soup dumplings. Also, after having experienced their non-vegan selections, it feels like they didn’t put as much effort in flavor and deliciousness for the vegan counterparts. They didn’t have the signature “oomph” or “substance” compared to the non-vegan dishes. However, the taro buns were top tier. I’d recommend the following: cucumber salad, green beans, and vegan wonton soup. Updated from previous review on 2025-08-21
Food was so good and came out very fast!! Jessica was an amazing server as well🙌🏽🙌🏽 10/10/10
Absolutely perfect atmosphere and food service. They are super lenient to slight changes in orders like removing vegetables from the wok fried noodles with vegetables.
Spicy chicken wontons must try & whatever we ordered is simply delicious.
Every time I go there I leave totally full. The food is excellent, the staff are great and you can actually talk as it's big enough not to be noisy. Just book first as I always walk past a huge line if people waiting for a table.
Best DTF location in the East side and Seattle
This was another amazing visit to Din Tai Fung – a place that always delivers on both flavor and experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt calm, elegant, and inviting. The interior design is modern with a subtle nod to traditional Asian aesthetics — warm wood tones, clean layout, and excellent lighting.
Food highlights:
🥟 Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings) were as perfect as ever — thin, delicate skins holding flavorful broth and juicy pork filling.
🌶️ Spicy Wontons were a favorite at the table — soft, silky wrappers and a well-balanced chili oil sauce with a gentle kick.
🍜 Dan Dan Noodles had just the right amount of heat and nuttiness, topped with scallions and crushed peanuts for texture.
🍗 Steamed Chicken Soup was clean, light, and soothing — ideal for starting off the meal.
🍖 The sweet & sour ribs in the background were sticky, tender, and full of flavor.
Service was smooth, professional, and attentive. Dishes came out in a timely manner and the staff was happy to help with recommendations.
Whether you’re new to Din Tai Fung or a long-time fan, this location lives up to the hype. It’s not just a meal — it’s a whole experience. Highly recommend!

Wait wasn't as bad as other locations. Service was great and food was wonderful!
Soupy chicken dumplings are yumm and must have. Spicy beans are yumm as well. Best is the chocolate dumplings
Vegan options were clearly marked and the vegan spicy wontons were especially delicious! Also loved the sesame buns. The veggie buns could have used a bit more flavor, but honestly I just put some of the chili sauce from the wontons on them.
Both the environment and the service are very good
Amazing service. I love that there are big windows where you can see where your noodles, buns, dumplings etc are being made. Vegan items are labeled on the menu, which is always nice! This was my second time here. This time I tried the vegan dumplings, the vegan sesame noodles and the taro buns. The vegan dumplings are a no for me 😔 I like that the dough is really thin and they are beautiful, but they could use a little more flavor, I had to add a lot of chili oil to enhance them. The noodles are so good though! My favorite are the vegan sesame noodles (which I also had last time!). The buns are good too, really soft and sweet. You have to wait 20 mins (they tell you in advance) for them to be prepared, but it is worth the wait. Last time, I had the red beans buns. Today I wanted to try the taro ones... delicious 😊
