I went to Island Grill craving a loco moco, and it was okay but not great, mostly because the gravy was bland. A good loco moco should have a flavorful brown (beef) gravy, theirs was more like chicken gravy and it wasn't very flavorful. Also, the eggs weren't cooked properly - the whites were still watery and runny, which I find off putting. Probably won't be back...

Had the kahlua pork plate and loco moco. The kahlua tasted very good. I like the cabbage cut into shreds versus big chunks. Right amount of smokey and salt flavors. 5 stars. The loco moco beef patty tasted great. 5 stars. But the gravy was not the usual brown beef gravy that I was expecting. What was that white gravy? Chicken? Not much flavor in that gravy. Knocked this down to 4 stars due to that. The mac salad was good. A little bland and needs a little more salt/pepper. Give it 4.5 stars. Now, the most disappointing part of the meal. The rice. It's horrible. It was not cooked correctly at all. Parts were gooey mushy and parts were hard and over cooked. It was inedible and that's a shame. Knocked down my whole rating for everything by 1.5 stars because rice is an important part of any island meal. Price is 4 stars. $14-$15. It's not $9 like teriyaki used to be pre-pandemic. But it's not the outrageous $18 some overpriced places charge nowadays. Final score is 3.5 stars. Please improve the rice quality. Use beef brown gravy. Add a little more salt (or have salt packets available on takeouts), then I'm happy to give 5 stars.

Since this is at the crossroads food court, there was plenty of seating. It has an old school, comforting vibe. My husband and I shared a combo plate of lau lau, kalua pork with cabbage, 2 scoops of white rice, a side of mac salad. I would say this is the closest thing to the plate lunches in Hawaii in all of Seattle area. Both the pork in the lau lau and kalua pork were so tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Even though we shared a plate, the portions were definitely Hawaiian size and filled us up! The price was very reasonable for the size and quality too. The only thing that was slightly off was the Mac salad. It needed a bit of acidity or salt to it. And I would've preferred the cabbages to be big pieces instead of slices, but those are very minor complaints that don't affect the overall experience.

Great food overall. Had the combo beef and chicken. Chicken was juicy and had a nice flavor to it. Beef was a little on the sweeter side but not bad. Large portions. This restaurant is located inside Crossroads Mall. Parking is plentiful around the mall.

I have loved coming here ever since I can remember. The last 2 times there has been a young guy taking the orders on the POC and he has been INCREDIBLY RUDE both times. I wasn’t even done saying “I would like the kalua pork convo w-“ when he interrupts and said “there are so many convos, idk which one you even want” while rolling his eyes, the very first encounter with him. As of today, I come up to order and he just looked like he did not want to be there, doesn’t say a single word & even sighed after I ordered.I have loved this place ever since I can remember but his attitude is honestly not worth continuing on coming here.

Worker was on the phone (NOT taking an order) and was in no rush to tend to the line in front of him. Finally got off the phone and seemed pretty unhappy to be at work. Wasn't horrible but wasn't pleasant. I ordered the short ribs and kalua pork. Short ribs were stale and poorly marinaded. Just tasted like plain short ribs. Didn't taste good at all. Kalua pork had more cabbage than pork. Not sure if this place just doesn't care anymore or are tight on budget or what but everything is lacking. I hope they tighten up. They got a great location to be in for any vendor.

Ordered kalua pork and bbq beef. Pork was good. Bbq beef was weird. Usually Hawaiian style bbq beef is grilled with some soy marinade. This one has some weird bbq sauce. Never have I ever had Hawaiian bbq beef with actual American bbq sauce. Mac salad didn’t taste authentic either. Portions were large though.

Boy the prices at the food court has gone up. It's even more important to make a good selection. This was my first time at the Island Grill. I got the Hawaii BBQ chicken. It's #1 so it should be their signature dish. The portions were plenty. They must have put three chicken breast on the place. They were also nice enough to substitute fries instead of the salad options. Unfortunately, it didn't have the flavor which makes you want to go back.

If you are looking for fast Hawaiian food, then this is an excellent place to go to. I got the chicken and spam musubi for a starter and the BBQ beef and short ribs combination plate. The chicken musubi was very dry, and I would never get it again. The spam musubi tasted as expected, but it was dry too. The combo plate was decent, but it was nothing special. My favorite part was the short ribs with lots of teriyaki sauce. This place is in Crossroads food court, so the service was fast and the ambiance was lovely with lots of people looking to relax and get food. This is a good, chill place to get food if you want many options with no servers. Overall, the food was 2/5, the service was 4/5 as they were very friendly, and the ambiance was 3/5. I would not go back, but if you happen to go there, get the short ribs!

Came with my mama and she kept saying "man I can make this" and I agree. The taste is not bad but there is nothing special whatsoever. The rice is your typical rice, not the sushi like rice that is usually served at Hawaiian restaurants, the meat is just ok and I am not a fan of the Mac salad. It tastes like water aka nothing. Also tell me why my kalua pork was 70% cabbage (look at pic).
