I have been checking back yearly to see when this place opens again. The best mochi I've ever had!
Best mochi sweets a hidden treasure of sweets from Japan
They have the best imported sweets such as the peaches and the mango mochi. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. I'm a bit sad to see they were closed several weeks ago. Their storefront has a sign they are under renovations, but plan to look for another location.
Huge selection of produce, other foods, gifts and cooking tools. It is my go to place when my regular Asian store does not have an item,. It is a mite high priced!
Had the mochi and doriyaki, outstanding! I can't believe there wasn't a line here! 100% will be back.
Best mochi EVER!Green tea mochi is so good
Yummy mochi! They have all of their mochis in the fridge so you have to wait at least 30 mins before you can have them. I waited 30min, and I think 40min or even 50min would’ve done better thawing but regardless they were scrumptious!

Small sweet store inside the uwajimaya, they were really helpful and kind, I bought half a dozen different mochi with different flavors and all of them were delicious and fresh. I would go visit there again to get their delicious ? mochi
This place is special. Treats here are difficult to find elsewhere and some with unique delicious flavors. The staff is helpful, courteous and nice. A small gift/ sample with purchase doesn't hurt either. The best mochi I have tried.
Located inside Uwajimaya which used to be a space where they had Ellenos and saw this place being built was was looking forward to it. Went back to try. Service was impeccable, thank you! The Yoku Moku Cigare are great and so are the mochi!
Uwajimaya is one of the coolest grocery stores I’ve ever been to. It noted it was Japanese, and while they do have items from Japan, it’s got a lot of international items available. Lots of unique sea food items for the adventurous gastronom. Definitely worth a visit for those that grow tired of the Whole Foods does the street. Enjoy!
Half Chinese here, grew up in Japan, HK, and Thailand, so picky about my food. Uwajimaya is a great all around option for getting almost everything you might need for most Asian cuisines. Of course, there are items for Korean and Chinese where you're better off going to nearby Jing Jing (Chinese) or H Mart and Southgate Oriental Market (Korean.) However, the meat, seafood, veggie, and fruit selection is amazing, and for everything Japanese this is the place. Bakery and gift items are incredible. The only downside, if you can call it that, is the store is so big you might have issues finding exactly what you need, but the aisles are clearly marked. And everything is spotlessly clean. Sat/Sun is always packed.
