I’ve tried going to this place 4 different times over the last few months and they’re NEVER open… Would like to try one day, but come on. At least put something on your website or the voicemail.

Fun grab and go atmosphere, unique menu, friendly staff, would highly recommend the Inari and the Unagi Bowl!

My love affair with mentaiko onigiri started during my first trip to Japan, where I discovered this delicious treat. Given its rarity in the States, I was over the moon when I discovered that Jae's Lunchbox was offering it on their menu. However, my excitement was short-lived as soon as I took my first bite.Despite placing an order to be delivered to my office as soon as the restaurant opened, the food was anything but fresh. The rice was cold and dry, so much so that it was falling apart, grain by grain. It crumbled all over me like a hailstorm, leaving me feeling incredibly disappointed. The inari fared a little better, as the rice was housed in a tofu skin pocket. However, even with the decent fillings and toppings, the rice was almost inedible. Overall, this experience left me feeling underwhelmed and dissatisfied.

Run by the same Korean owner as the nearby Sushi J, Jae's Lunchbox presents a unique experience of 3 different Japanese casual dishes: inari (sushi rice in deep fried tofu pockets), onigiri (nori wrapped steamed rice usually with a filling), and sando (a sandwich differentiated by unusual fillings, using crustless Japanese milk bread). All were delicious while providing great value. One places and pays for the order in digital kiosks. There are two counters providing seating for 10 or so people, though most used them to wait for carryout order. We decided to eat-in after placing our order. There is self-serve hot tea and tap water available. We got our dishes delivered by the restaurant's namesake within 10 minutes, and everything was absolutely delicious. The star was the inari: the topping was the different pokes. The seafood for the poke was sweet; none of the sauces used were heavy enough to mask the freshness of the fish....and I really like how the prepared pokes are in clear refrigerated cabinets so a prospective customer can see the fish before they order it.Each dish comes with 3 choices for $8.49, and we ordered two sets: First was tuna, scallop, and salmon and the second was spicy seared salmon, crab salad, and plain seared salmon. Instead of steamed white rice as the filling, lettuce was used. Thus the combination of the salty sweet fried tofu pouches, mixed with the crunchiness and neutrality of the greens, along with the different pokes really made this in some ways a bit of an adventure in fine dining. I did wish for rice though, so the onigiri ($3.99) helped a lot to satiate that craving. The final item was the strawberry sandwich for $4.89 (which is a steal in my book)...it used fresh whipped cream with strawberries halves as the filling, surrounded by very soft and lightly sweet Japanese milk bread. It reminded me so much of a strawberry shortcake, except less sweet. I'm trying to imagine what this sandwich would taste like if the strawberries were in season. If this is the same grade of fish that is being used at the sister sushi restaurant, the sashimi here and there should be a stop for sushi lovers in Bellevue. All three of these would be available in a typical Japanese corner market (konbini)...if somebody is missing this quality, they need to come here stat.

In my opinion Sandwhich House Tres has much better fruit sandwiches. I ordered $85 worth of these and while they looked beautiful and the fruit was fresh, the whipped cream was not good at all, it was like eating fluffy oil/butter. It was not sweet at all. I ended up picking the fruit out and wasting all the rest of the ingredients. Also the strawberry jam and Nutella ones were really hard in the middle, at first I thought maybe it was because they were cold but I left one on the counter for 5 hours and tried it again and it was still hard. At Sandwich House they also serve the sandwiches in two separate slices which makes it much easier to eat, the ones from here look prettier but are impossible to eat without the fruit and whipped cream falling out all over you. I definitely should have tried one first before ordering $85 worth for my get together with family and friends. I would be willing to try one again another day and increase my rating to see if maybe whoever made them that day messed up when making the whip cream.

Tried this place out after seeing so many video reviews about it on tiktok. I was super hyped since I loved Japanese foods. The place itself was decorated with anime art style on the walls. It's very spacious and bright inside. There is a dining area as well. I went ahead and ordered onigiri (?), spam/rice/eggs, salmon poke, and strawberry bread for dessert. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my lunch as much as I thought I would. Maybe I am just not a fan but the fish in every dish tasted like it's been refrigerated for awhile. They do have a microwave to heat up specific dishes! The service was great though. Very friendly.

I'm vegetarian so I got the veggie onigiri and inarizushi options. We liked the onigiri, though it could use more salt. The inarizushi were kind of disappointing. Definitely not worth $3 a piece. I wish they had done something more creative and filling than just scoop some corn into the tofu skin. A corn + rice + miso vegan butter would be more filling, tasty and kind of a Hokkaido inspired inari.

Hilarious place that serves you frozen food at outrageous prices and makes you microwave it. You know what's 1/10 the price and tastes better? The frozen food section at the grocery store.

since we share the same name, I've wanted to try this place, especially after watching the Instagram short.you walk in and order from the ipads and each inari costs $3 each.i love inarizushi and sometimes i would make it at home but their version doesn't have rice inside. instead the inside is filled with salad or seaweed green. I didn't enjoy it as much as i was expecting rice inside.the fruit with whipped cream sandwiches were good without it being too sweet.also tried onigiri, but again, wasn't too impressed.all in all, i think it's a good place to stop by to grab a quick snack. I just wish they offer inari with rice inside.

Self service, which is cool. The place is small, clean, and it has utensils with a microwave if you would like to warm up your onigiri. I had the salmon onigiri, not bad (salmon had a nice flavor), but not wow by it, I should have added a little soy sauce or sweet chili. However, the strawberry sandwich was delicious and interesting (in a good way), definitely would eat it again or the orange sandwich.

A nice grab and go place for something pretty and also delicious for a great price! Their sandwiches are creamy and fluffy! Their seared salmon inari ($2.99 each) hit the spot! Three inari was enough to fill me up + 1 cream sandwich! Also ordered both their boxed meals (unagi box $9.99 & spam/egg $7.99) both were filling and delicious! Highly recommend stopping by here to support this small eatery! The inside has a cute bar area decorated by animation panels :) very unique! I'll definitely be back for more!

I think it’s a bit overpriced for the level of quality for the food. The food was still yummy but nothing too special.
