I just had a visit there, I think my expectations from a South Indian place are very high. Coffee is good but adding sugar afterwards always makes the coffee a bit cold from pipping hot. Medu vada was good but cold, onion rava dosa was really bad it disintegrated on touch and I had to eat rava powder, I haven’t found one single south or North Indian tiffin place in Seattle that can make a proper rava dosa, my recommendation is if you can’t make it don’t put in on the menu, and management please try for yourself before putting things on the menu. It was a rush in the store, so I am sure there are things good here ( as I did not try all of the menu items), staff was ok, when I told the cashier about the rava dosa, he just said sorry, he should have comped me for the dosa and just charge me for coffee and medu vada which were ok and I did end up eating them. All in all a very average experience and not worth the drive from Lynwood for me.

I went to this restaurant with my husband last Saturday morning and the breakfast was delicious. All the items we ordered - Medhu vada, sambar, dosa and poori were tasty, hot, fresh and they were prepared within a short time so we did not wait for a long time. They provided good customer service as well. We liked their Kumbakonam filter coffee too.

Excellent food. We had Dosas, idli & vada.
The chutneys were fantastic. The dosas melt in your mouth and the idli was super fresh! The sambar was good but they don’t give an adequate amount. And they use plastic cups to serve it in.

A very authentic South Indian restaurant. Loved the fact that they make things fresh on a daily basis. Ordered combo breakfast options. Portion sizes are quite generous and was very tasty. Upma tasted so good .I would definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

STAY AWAY!!
We have been coming to Jayam tiffins about once every 2 months since they opened and I have noticed a marked drop in their food quality and service during each visit. Our recent visit with my parents was absolutely the "last straw that broke the camel's back" - for me..
Not only was the food incredibly badly made, it took almost 1 hour for them to serve simple dosas and fried rice.
I understand that rava dosas take a little longer to prepare, but definitely not 1 hour. In addition, it was so badly made (dryness, not fresh batter) that it was barely edible. Gobi 65 fried rice - the gobi was fried to a point of "chips level" crispiness, dripping with oil, rice was over cooked, but veggies were under cooked - overall a disaster of a dish.
The most critical comment I have is about the behavior of one of the staff calling out names when the orders are ready. At one point we had waited for 45 minutes+ and I had walked up to the counter with my mom to find out about our order and I heard this person saying to the cook inside: "Dei sikram kudu da dosaiya, perusu vera vandurukku". For those who aren't fluent in Tamil, this is an outright insult and one of the most derogatory terms that can be used against elderly people. It roughly translates to "Hey give the dosa fast, this 'old one' has also come to ask".
I know I will be staying away from Jayam tiffins forever now.
You have been warned - don't go here especially with kids or parents, there are much better South Indian pure veg restaurants within 2-3 miles from this place.

Horrible experience ordering mangalore dosa in-store, after confirming with the cashier that dosa will come with potato stuffing, when the dosa arrived, there was no stuffing, worst part was the inside of doas wasnt layered with any powder or chutney as well. Upon asking the cashier they were very casual about it and did not bother to address our concern as they didnt care and didnt want to own up to their mistake. It was clear that the place was busy during lunch time and chef clearly messed up the dosa in a rush and they were too arrogant to fix their mistake.

Ordered some vegetable biryani from here as dine in. Got food microwaved in a takeout container which was ice cold center and hot in the sides. Also a small eyelash in the food. Wouldn't recommend this place.

The food isn't authentic. The flavors are completely missing the mark. The food is decently priced but I don't think it's worth it.

Got catering from them for a brunch event. Everything was delicious; idle, medu vada and pineapple kesari. Even a week later people were raving about the kesari they had at the event.
