Absolutely phenomenal experience at La Mar Cocina Peruana in Bellevue! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting — elegant but not pretentious, with that modern coastal vibe that instantly reminds you of Lima. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and immediately made us feel at home.
We started with the classic ceviche, and honestly, it might be the best I’ve had outside of Peru. The fish was incredibly fresh, perfectly marinated in that bright leche de tigre, with just the right balance of citrus, spice, and salt. The sweet potato and corn added that perfect traditional touch.
For mains, we shared the lomo saltado and the arroz con mariscos, and both were outstanding. The lomo saltado had beautifully tender beef, bursting with wok-charred flavor — it tasted like it came straight out of a Lima street kitchen, but elevated. The arroz con mariscos was rich and aromatic, full of perfectly cooked shrimp, mussels, and calamari. You could tell every ingredient was high quality.
The cocktails deserve a mention too — the pisco sour was expertly balanced, creamy, and refreshing. We also tried a passion fruit variation that was dangerously good.
Service throughout the meal was top-notch — attentive without being intrusive. Our server clearly knew the menu inside and out, offered great pairing suggestions, and even told us a bit about the chef’s background and the inspiration behind some of the dishes.
To finish, we ordered the lucuma mousse, which was light, silky, and the perfect ending to the meal.
Overall, La Mar Cocina Peruana is a gem — the kind of place that not only serves incredible food but also delivers a full cultural and culinary experience. If you love Peruvian cuisine or just want to try something new and unforgettable, this place is absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely be coming back soon — next time with friends so they can experience it too!

It did not even inspire me to take a picture. Horrible sitting. Our seafood was overcooked and chewy including the chips we had. The service was poor. The server never checked on us or how our food was tasting neither offer us more drinks or water in fact she delivered a poor costumer service. I would not recommend this place for a date or special event unless your corporate job pays for it. Not worth to spend the money here.

I had such a great experience at La Mar in Bellevue! The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. I ordered the arroz con mariscos (seafood rice), and it was fantastic, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. I also really enjoyed the chicken skewers and patatas fritas, and the burrata was so creamy and fresh.
The raw fish dishes were excellent as well, really high quality and beautifully presented. I tried the Sammamish Spritz (non-alcoholic), which was refreshing and flavorful. For dessert, the chocolate cake was rich and satisfying, the perfect way to end the meal.
They also brought out some root vegetable chips with a tasty green sauce to start, which were addictive. The atmosphere is modern, sleek, and vibrant, and it’s a great spot for a nice night out. Plus, they validate parking, which is a huge bonus in Bellevue.
Overall, I highly recommend La Mar. The food, service, and ambiance all came together beautifully.

Everything was absolutely INCREDIBLE‼️ The Food & service were OUTSTANDING & the restaurant is beautifully decorated❗️
Came here with friends after a mastermind event & everyone loved La Mar❕(we had a private room)
Let’s start with the drinks - the mocktails, cocktails, & wine were fantastic. The Espresso Martinis were my favorite❕
The starters - were great bursting with flavor, the fish was extremely fresh, & steak was cooked perfectly❕
The Main dishes - were prepared perfectly & seasoned to perfection. The Wagyu simply melted in your mouth!
For dessert - our favorite was the Tres Leches Cake, it was perfect (not too sweet)
I highly recommend you come to La Mar wether you’re looking for an intimate dinner or celebrating with friends❕

Made reservation at 730. Wait half hour and still haven’t got my table. I totally can’t understand it. Especially this is a fine dining, if you can’t handle it, please upgrade your booking system or control the flow.

Absolutely Amazing – A Must-Try!
My fiancé and I visited La Mar Cocina Peruana tonight after a friend recommended it, and wow, he was right! The restaurant has such a cozy, relaxed vibe — soft lighting, light music, and the perfect atmosphere for a date night.
The service was exceptional. The team worked seamlessly, and our server Rena was fantastic — friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. We even chatted about where we’re from and her travel plans, which made the evening feel extra special.
Now, the food… just wow! Every dish was beautifully plated and bursting with flavor — a true work of art. By dessert we were stuffed, but couldn’t resist the tiramisu, and it was one of the best we’ve ever had.
From the food to the service to the ambiance, everything was spot on. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.
Pro tip: Bring your stretch pants (like Joey from Friends) — you’ll want to try everything!

STEAK caused illness, plus sneaky charges
Easily one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. While the food initially tasted fine, my son became violently ill after eating their steak. When we brought this to the restaurant’s attention, instead of taking responsibility, we were given a string of excuses. First, we were told the portion was meant for 2–3 people and that if one person ate it, it could cause sickness. Then, we were told their “version of preparation uses too much fat” and that might have caused the vomiting. These shifting explanations were dismissive and insulting — it was clearly a case of food poisoning that they refused to acknowledge.
To make matters worse, we were served taro and potato chips without ordering them, as though complimentary, and only later discovered three separate charges for them on the bill. The only reason we even noticed was because of the steak incident. This comes across as deceptive and unethical.
The meal began with a long-winded introduction about menu about how mindful they are with portions — completely undermined by the reality of unsafe food and sneaky billing.

Forgot to take any pictures unfortunate but overall was really impressed. Great place for delicious seafood dishes and didn't even try the ceviche (what they are known for) but will have to come back. The dishes were rich with flavor and a bit pricey, but that is to be expected. Overall good experience.

Ive been here twice, once for dinner and once for the Mother's Day brunch. It is truly fantastic, some of the best food I've eaten, period. The Mother's Day brunch was a great experience; the food was incredible and my wife and I ate our fill, I wish I had two stomachs so I could eat more! I really hope they continue it next year- do it on Fathers day too! 🙏

Deeply shocked and very very disappointed. We came to La Mar for my friend’s birthday and unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.
Let’s start with the service. Upon arrival, we still waited for 10 mins although we made a reservation at the very beginning of this week. We just stand like foolish and didn’t know what to do, I had no idea why we still need to wait such long with the reservation. After we finished ordering, chips were brought out to us with plates and everyone thought it was complimentary, so we asked to refill one more time, but when we paid using the handheld device, it showed we were charged for chips and three bottles of water, which was $28 as a result. WHY THERE WAS NOBODY COME TO INFORM US VERBALLY??????? Oh by the way, they even charged us $25 “cake fee” since we brought our own cake.
The food. The food wasn’t that bad, but definitely cannot match the sky high price. The portion sizes was disappointing too, literally I was shocked when the seafood fried rice brought to table, it was just a salad size.
The price. Peruvian food shouldn’t be this price, it’s too overcharge. Also, so many hidden charges, water, chips, cake fee and….oh, 2% surcharge for some so-called” well living wages”. So pls be really careful.
Will I return or recommend? DEFINITELY NO!
