For its core function as a place to play games, this place is great. It has a good games library to try out games and their staff is pretty helpful. I have been pretty disappointed by the food, but I consider that more a secondary function.
Lots of space. The events are well organized. During my first event there (mtg draft), I felt very comfortable. Would repeat.
Fantastic. Wasn't expecting the art deco style honestly, without looking at the photos I thought the restaurant would like quite different.
Food is greasy - staff treat events like a money machine rather than an event for the community. I try to avoid at all costs.
Went in to try the bar and check this place out after hearing good things.
It’s aWalked into the bar and was not greeted, but another guy that walked in after me was greeted first.
The male server was very dismissive and the female bartender was not very friendly nor welcoming. Decided just not to even order anything. Probably won’t be back when there are locally owned shops that are more welcoming.
We had my birthday party here and the staff was so welcoming. They helped my parents find a fun trivia game for us to play and the staff was excellent. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves board games/hobby games.
Fantastic experience. Pretty much has everything and they give fantastic recs!!!
Overall we enjoyed our visit last night with our family/group of 4, and particularly enjoyed the butter chicken while seated in the diner. We had arrived at 8 pm on a Thursday with a 10 pm closing for a game of Catan and were offered a small table. As we were wanting to eat plus play Catan (with expansion) that takes up extra space, we asked the host if we could have a larger table, particularly the one with more light in the front. He said he would only seat us at a shared table even though there were at least two other unoccupied large tables. I might understand this if it were 6 or 7 pm, but 8 pm on a Thursday? So we were squeezed in with another party, with our food plates on top of our cards while large tables on both sides of us sat unused for both hours we were there. This makes no sense. If all the tables had been full then this situation would have been understandable and given us the chance to move to the other room, but the inflexibility of the host to place us at a more suitable table made for a less than optimal experience.
Board game nirvana! You can shop games, play games at their game tables, eat at the restaurant and even, play games while eating at the restaurant! Its an awesome community that makes you feel like your sitting at the family house at dinner. We saw several family with kids dining at the space and it was lovely. I plan on bringing my family by for birthdays.
Mox Boarding House is a really fun place with a huge selection of board games to choose from. The food is great and better than expected, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and well made. The ambiance is amazing, cozy, and lively at the same time, which makes it easy to spend a lot of time here without getting bored. The staff is helpful and explains the games if needed, which adds to the experience. Overall, it’s a perfect spot to hang out with friends, enjoy good food, and have lots of fun.

The games😍 and the food😍 and the fact that you can play games AT your table is wild...family friendly environment and drink menu was just as surprising as the food menu! I expected finger foods like mozzarella sticks but NOPE they go above and beyond. Service was excellent and you dont feel rushed I cant wait to go back!
Warning: Google map may direct you to the back door.
Once you find it, it's great place for friends get-together. Good food, good vide.
This place is great. The selection is amazing when it comes to card games as well as board games. The team is always friendly and helpful! Its a great place for MTG events!
I like Mox as a board game venue, but the payment process needs serious fixing. I ordered a single juice. When it was my turn on a split bill, the server asked if the card on file was okay and then ran the charge with a 20% tip added without ever showing me the screen.
That’s not “suggested tip,” that’s a tip being applied without consent. If this is an auto-gratuity policy, it needs to be explicitly disclosed and still shown before charging. This experience made me uncomfortable and I won’t be back unless this changes.
I never even been here, i think they sell food and drinks and board games and tcg.
