Nan Hot Pot is a fantastic spot for authentic Chinese hot pot, and it’s easily one of my go-to recommendations for anyone craving a hearty, flavorful dining experience. With a solid mix of quality ingredients, traditional flavors, and additional specialty dishes, this restaurant earns a strong 4 out of 5 stars.

The restaurant is clean, well-organized, and welcoming, with a cozy atmosphere perfect for gathering with family and friends. Arriving early allowed us to be seated right away, which made for a smooth start to our meal.

Nan Hot Pot stands out for its dedication to authentic flavors, not only in its hot pot broth and dipping sauces but also in its selection of “Lu Wei” (滷味)—Chinese-style marinated and smoked meats. These dishes are prepared with care and deliver rich, traditional flavors that complement the hot pot experience perfectly.

The hot pot ingredients were fresh and satisfying, and the broth was well-seasoned without being overpowering. The addition of Lu Wei dishes added depth and variety to the meal, making it a more memorable experience than standard hot pot spots.

The staff was attentive and friendly, and because we arrived early, seating was immediate. Service throughout the meal was smooth, with staff checking in without being intrusive.

Prices are reasonable for the quality and authenticity of the dishes, and the portions are generous. The convenient location in a plaza with plenty of parking makes it even easier to recommend.

Final Verdict: Nan Hot Pot delivers a satisfying and authentic hot pot experience, enhanced by its standout Lu Wei dishes. With attentive service, easy parking, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is a great spot for hot pot lovers looking for a traditional yet comfortable dining experience.

The food was very flavourful. We took one in three broths and were amazing. The oily spicy one which is house made broth was very spicy for us even tho we selected medium level in it, otherwise the food and service is amazing. The sauces were tasting good too. I liked this hot pot place a lot, would highly recommend

Nan Hotpot!
A hidden gem among Seattle’s hotpot spots! The ingredients are fresh, and the décor transports you straight to 1980s–90s China. Sitting around the table with a few friends, dipping food into the bubbling broth — it’s authentic not just in flavor, but in atmosphere too.

Edit: in 2025 they changed the way they marinate the fresh beef and used way too much baking soda for marinating, now it tastes awful. It is such a pity that they changed their traditional recipe just because some dumb customer complained about it. Now the beef is very tender but lost the beef flavor.

Original review from 2023:

This is the most authentic ChongQing hotpot I had in the west coast. The unapologetically spicy soup base really bring my memory back to ChongQing. The only difference is that you won’t get diarrhea because unlike the authentic ChongQing hotpot, they didn’t reuse the soup base😂

I took my friends from ChongQing to try this place and they agreed that it is as good as the hotpot places in ChongQing, one actually said it is even better.

Loved this place! The hot pot broths — especially the signature and tomato — were amazing. And all the side dishes were tasty too!

I enjoyed the hot pot here and particularly liked the lamb and cabbage. Note that this is a Chongqing style restaurant and that means the spicy broth is mouth numbing. That said, service was ok and it was a decent dining experience. The price was around $90 (before tip) for two people and for that price you can go to Dolar which has fresher ingredients, better service, and more beautiful atmosphere.

I had a great time with my friends here. The staff were super nice. They were busy, but they were the most friendly and helpful. The service was well beyond my expectations. When we were ordering they helped explained the difference between meat. The lady even helped find and texted my receipt when I called later in the evening.

As a Chinese, the food is great. The dessert is a must-try!! I will definitely come back.

Nice food and service!

My friend and I had lunch there. The service was bad. She was rude and unhelpful. The food was not fresh. We both had diarrhea afterwards. Worst experience.

our party has two families icl. 4 adults and one 9y kid and one 6 months baby, I was told 18% mandatory service fee is added for party over 6 people during the checkout, THAT IS RIDICULOUS TO COUNT THE BABY INTO THE NUMBER OF GUESTS.

I was disappointed to find that the tip was calculated as a combined total when we asked for separate checks. It felt like we were charged twice for the tip. Also, this has happened every time I've dined here. It would be helpful if the tip could be calculated separately when we request separate bills to avoid confusion in the future."
