Disorganized and poor management of staff.
I visited this Somisomi location today and had a very disappointing experience. I waited over 20 minutes for my order, only to realize I had been completely skipped. When I approached the staff, I was told their printer was broken and they simply forgot to make my order. While they claimed a staff shortage, I saw one employee working alone while another took an extended break during a busy period. It’s a shame because I usually love the sweat food, but the lack of communication and poor management of the floor made for a frustrating visit. I hope they fix their equipment and better coordinate their breaks. Instead, I will visit the other shop located at Bellevue square even it's a bit pricey there.

Extremely rude staff

Bad customer service, rude employee, gave me the wrong Ice-Cream and blaming me for picking up someone’s order. Very bad experience.

This experience was so bad. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our taiyaki, only to be told after asking that one flavor was out. This should have been communicated earlier instead of wasting our time.
When we requested a refund, Adam smirked and laughed, which felt mocking, embracing and unprofessional. Waiting that long and not receiving the order is unacceptable.
Because of this experience, I won’t be returning and would not recommend this place.

This is a low / slow service somi somi. The product is same and delicious like any other location. They seemed understaffed, only two people - 20+ people in the store. Poor guy making the fishies was apologizing while scrambling. Pay him more. Cashier girl was super unhelpful, didn’t proactively tell us that most ice cream flavors were gone, generally seemed super unhappy to be working, didn’t really answer questions, 0 service attitude. Pay her less.

Said they closed at 10 on google maps and I drove all the way and made it at 8 PM just to be told they were closed when there were people in the line??? Literally a waste of gas and disappointment 💔😔

Understaffed and hour+ waits

The lack of seating and slow service is such a turn off that I probably won't come back with family. Unfortunate because the ice cream and taiyaki are great.

Good desserts. Can get very busy, but it goes fast.

We drove 30 min to try this place. 10:30 pm got there they say it closes 11:00 pm and they already had closed the store 30 earlier. Made us waste our trip🤬

The best corn ice cream I’ve ever had, but unfortunately that flavor isn’t always available, but they should always keep it because it’s by far the best! 🌽

Drove down from Lynnwood to get one last serving of their peach swirl before the flavor disappeared for the season, only to learn that they open at 6 PM now :( not only that, the peach machine was broken, and it took so long for the poor overheated employees to turn the taiyaki machines on that I had to give up and leave. definitely not the visit I had hoped to have

I’ve been coming here for quite a while, and while the desserts remain excellent, I’ve noticed a significant decline in service and cleanliness on my recent visits.

The staff often seem unorganized, with things frequently out of place or not working. The interior could use serious attention as there’s little ventilation, food bits left around, and an overall unsanitary feel. It makes the environment feel uncomfortable.

That being said, the desserts themselves are still very good, though they rarely seem to have the macaron or strawberry topping available anymore, which is disappointing.

Overall, the food is worth it, but the atmosphere and service have definitely gone downhill compared to how it used to be.

Somisomi was an interesting experience. The desserts are delicious. The taiyaki is good. The ice cream is soft and creamy and not too sweet. We really enjoyed the flavors!

Unfortunately the shop itself is very odd, there's no AC and no indoor seating though it is relatively spacious. The service was mediocre. Overall I enjoyed the dessert so I'd come back for it.

Somi Somi – Soft Serve & Taiyaki

Food:
I’ve been a fan of Somi Somi for a while, but lately the quality feels like it’s gone downhill. The ube soft serve used to be vibrant, rich, and distinctly purple in both flavor and color. Now, it tastes more like diluted vanilla with just a faint hint of ube and a very light purple hue—far from what it used to be. I was especially disappointed since the ube + matcha swirl was one of my favorites, but it’s no longer offered. On top of that, toppings like sprinkles have noticeably been reduced, which makes the treat feel less generous for the price.

Atmosphere:
The atmosphere is okay, but there are some drawbacks. There isn’t any indoor seating available, and there’s no AC, which makes it less comfortable to enjoy your ice cream on warmer days.

Service:
Service was fine, but nothing stood out. Given the price point, I feel the overall experience (service, comfort, and quality) should be a bit better.

Overall Experience:
While I still enjoy the idea of Somi Somi and their taiyaki soft serve concept, the dilution of flavors (especially ube) and reduction in toppings have been disappointing. Combined with the lack of seating and AC, it doesn’t feel worth the premium price anymore.
