Starbucks asked for a coffee purchase for a cup of water. Shame on you. Even the barista was ashamed and admitted that the company is becoming stingy by the day. I ended up buying a bottled water. Corporate greed at a granular level!
Edit: I saw a review with the same issue, even denied water for medication too.INSANELY STUPID!!!!

Weirdest Starbucks ever… They have no seats (only some tables spread out outside the store, in the noisy mall) and NO CHARGERS!! Why would I go to a Starbucks if not to charge my device?? Please don’t be cheap, and add some chargers to show that you care about your customers. Come on.

Tried to ask for a small cup of water and they wouldn’t give one unless I buy something. I said we did earlier but on another Starbucks so they said it has to be from them. I then had to tell them why I need water - so my wife can take her medication - which gave them a pause and finally gave me a cup. No apologies btw. Since when do you have to beg for water at a Starbucks??? And what’s wrong with giving a cup of water to a stranger without having to ask them for something in return or having to explain why?

Waited 15m for a cold brew, decided to check in and they forgot to make it. staff was unapologetic, very bizarre experience

I was trying to get some water so that my daughter can take some medicine and I was denied a cup of water. I buy from Starbucks almost every other day and just to be forced to make a purchase does not make me feel welcome at any of the Starbucks store anymore I’m not sure if I’m going to use my free stars as well that I’ve got 400 of them. I’m at the Starbucks at Bellevue Square, Mall and this is the worst service I’ve ever had.
Maybe it is a policy they are following at the store, but this is the worst policy I’ve ever seen for a regular customer

They don’t even give out free water anymore. Employees have attitude. Starbucks is so disappointing. Use to love them back in the day. Very sad how the company has gone down hill.

Employees are nice but unfortunately 99% of the time I have to go back and have re-do my drink because I ALWAYS ask for oat milk and for some reason they always make it with regular milk when I’m dairy intollerant. I’m not sure if they pay attention on the description of the drink .
If I was allergic that would’ve been more serious scenario .

Date of service 11/25/24: IMPROPER FOOD HANDLING. Store: 5191
Ordered a cup of tea from this location. The cashier (an Asian gentleman on the evening shift) who took my cash payment proceeded to move several inventory boxes. WITHOUT cleaning his hands and NOT WEARING GLOVES, the cashier opened the tea packet with his bear uncleaned hands. A set of tongs were clearly placed adjacent to the tea packets. I politely asked the cashier to make another cup of tea since, he avoided to used the tongs, gloves or wash his hands. He apologized, proceeded to use the tongs to remove the tea bag partially from the package THEN used his UNCLEANED HANDS to remove the tea bag fully from the package and place it within the cup. I did not feel it was worth asking for him to remake the tea a third time. Disappointed, I took the tea and discarded it in the TRASH!

The tongs are present for a purpose. THE CASHIER REALLY NEEDED TO BOTH WASH HIS HANDS AFTER PICKING UP THE INVENTORY BOXES AND USE THE TONGS FOR ADEQUATE FOOD HANDLING! Please RE-TRAIN your staff in how to properly handle food. It is understandable, employees rush to take customer orders but, part of adequate service is more than smiles and pleasantries, it involves CLEANLINESS to prevent contamination and illness to the customer.

Some friendly employees, I always order refreshers and I’ve never had an issue with them. The new location seems modern and chic, just a little small and I feel like it could get crowded easily
