Really loved the broth that I chose I believe it was the mild heat. It was tasty and just the right amount of spice. They had lots of meat and veggie options and the staff were nice and friendly.

Ingredients got mixed up significantly. One of our soups was missing their shrimps, bamboo shoots;
Also a significant amount of beef and chicken got mixed into what should have been a bowl for a vegetarian (when they shouldn’t have been in the bowl).
Atmosphere is nice though, a lot of ingredient variety compared to other equivalent places nearby!

Lots of choices and good atmosphere. However the broth is bit salty.
That said, be ready to spend $40–$45 per person, which feels excessive. Honestly, every Mala Tang place in Seattle is overpriced — $50 for a bowl? You could easily cook the same thing at home with instant noodles and a few toppings for a fraction of the price.
Overall decent experience, but not worth the cost.

Like other customers have voiced, the only reason we would not come here is the one lady, protector of the tables. We have been here thrice and each time either she has moved us even when we are sitting at the long table or yelled at us for wanting to sit somewhere comfortable. What is the point of open seating if this lady is just going to interrupt our conversation and make us move? What would she like us to do next? File a single file line to our cars? A ticket to check our phones?
Today was the absolute last time when we sat at the longer table so she won’t bother us and she came to move us again because she didn’t like where we’re sitting - we are so done. No food is worth the stress of this lady.

For 15$/lb when beef from grocery stores is already $10 and above, the price is more than a steal. Three of spent less than $70, everyone was full and one had leftover to take home.
But price alone doesn’t make for good restaurant: we all loved the food (we ordered different things with different sauces), and thought food taste was not far from Dolar which is our only favorite Chinese restaurant—but 3 times as expensive as Tang Bar.
Food quality seemed fairly good—you pick your own mixture of meals and vegetables etc. Everything looked fairly decently clean, and we didn’t taste anything that seemed stale or suspicious.
This is not, but close to self serving restaurant. Don’t really have any complaints about service.
Food was served really fast and weighing plus paying was fast too—but we were there around 9pm on a Sunday, so your mileage may vary.
While it’s not anything upscale or fancy, for the price, taste, food quality, it’s hands down a 5-star from me. I hope they will stay this way and stay open—I certainly plan to go again, and likely very often.

Food tastes great and they have a great selection. I visited about 5 times already, but got diarrhea after my most recent visit :/ I might give it another shot if I don't have anything lined up the next day

I was very happy with the cleanliness and the variety of food to choose from. The broth wasn’t as oily compared to other hot pot places. I would definitely recommend others to try it, and of course, I’ll be coming back again!

If I could leave 0 star, I would! They messed up canceling my online order and they asked us to line up again so that we can order it again. Terrible customer service!

We were very impressed by this place. Employees were friendly the moment we walked in the door, offering instruction and options. Out of several malatang restaurants we've been to recently Tang Bar has the most well designed food bays with a clear layout and nice wooden structure that fits the modern design of the restaurant. Most importantly, the food tasted great; ingredients were very fresh during my visit. I chose the mushroom broth during my first visit and would only recommend it to vegetarians, but the spicy malatang is incredible. I'd go as far as to say that this is the best individual hot pot I've had in Bellevue.

The food selection at this Ma La Tang is above average, and the restaurant feels clean and well-maintained. The customers need to wears gloves while picking up the food, which is a nice touch. The food is weighed and paid for at the end of raw food bar, just like other Ma La Tang restaurants.
The cost of the food is $14.99 per pound, which is the same as other Ma La Tang restaurants. I’ve had reasonable $25ish meals at other Ma La Tang restaurants, but this time the cost was a bit shocking. Before tax and tips, it came to $34, and with tax and tips, it came to $43. I could have gone to a hotpot restaurant for a much better meal for the cost of almost $45. The staff at the counter was very nice, and with the long line behind me; I didn’t try to see how much weigh is my food and was the bowl got subtracted, it was a very heavy bowl.
They also have options to select a more traditional, heavier soup base or a less salty soup base, which was nice. However, the “less salty” soup was so salty that I couldn’t have too much of it. I heard the same comment from the couple sitting next to us. I guess if it’s the original soup, it wouldn’t be edible.
Overall, the environment and the service are good, but I’m not sure why the food was so much heavier than what I typically pay for at other Ma La Tang restaurants. I received a big bowl from the kitchen, but most of it was soup, which isn’t included in the weight. It was a bit pricey, so we won’t be having this too often.
