Very clean and nice seating area although it can get a bit cramped. There’s a good variety of ingredients available and their broths are delicious! I love that they offer a low sodium option for all the broths. Highly recommend the “just a little kick” and “picked veggies” broth flavor. This is my new favorite place for a quick and warm soupy meal!

Tang Bar is a must-visit if you love hotpot-style meals and big portions! You get a super large bowl and can mix and match anything you want — beef, pork, lamb, chicken, shrimp, octopus, squid, plus all kinds of veggies and noodles. The variety is amazing and perfect for customizing your own dream bowl.
For the broth, the mala spicy broth with reduced sodium is the best choice if you can handle spicy food — flavorful, numbing, and satisfying without being too salty. If you don’t like spicy, then definitely go with the pickled vegetable base broth instead — it’s light, savory, and refreshing.
Overall: great variety, fun experience, and delicious if you pick the right broth!

Dear owners:
Please get rid of the tip option at checkout. There is no service at this restaurant.
Customers select their own ingredients, pay at the counter, pick up the food when their names are called, and finally are expected to bus their own tables.
Regarding the food: it's good.
If you're not familiar, the concept of this restaurant is that you select your own ingredients, they're weighed, and the kitchen will cook them for you in your selected broth. It's like an individual hot pot. There are a lot of ingredients to select from and the price is reasonable at $14.99/lb, although if you get a lot of vegetables or carbs that is a bad deal.

I’ve tried many hot pot places before, but this one was absolute heaven. From the setup and service to the calm, inviting atmosphere everything was perfect. And the food? My goodness. This was hands down the best hot pot I’ve ever had. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the meats were tender, fresh, and offered in so many varieties. The next time I land in Seattle, this will be my very first stop straight from the airport.

Kind of a mediocre malatang option in Bellevue, especially in comparison to YGF or Zhangliang. The sauce bar is sorely lacking - they don’t offer minced garlic which was a big surprise to me. Good variety of choices for meats, but soup base is a bit lacking in flavour. Their gimmick is drinks but the QR codes on the tables you use to order drinks returns a 404. lol. 5/10

Tang Bar is easily one of the best malatang spots we’ve been to. The ingredients are super fresh, and the broth is packed with flavor—especially the Spicy Sichuan one, which hits all the right notes. Service is friendly and quick, making the whole experience even better.
Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to.

great place with good varieties!
Today I ordered the same thing as I did last time, except it’s a lot more spicy and salty than last time.

The ingredients aren’t easy to grab due to the fridge design — you have to bend awkwardly to reach them, which makes it inconvenient. The base options include malatang and dry mix with various flavours, but the drink selection is quite limited. The sauce bar is also messy, and getting your food through the crowds didn’t feel like a smooth experience.

Really loved the broth that I chose I believe it was the mild heat. It was tasty and just the right amount of spice. They had lots of meat and veggie options and the staff were nice and friendly.

Ingredients got mixed up significantly. One of our soups was missing their shrimps, bamboo shoots;
Also a significant amount of beef and chicken got mixed into what should have been a bowl for a vegetarian (when they shouldn’t have been in the bowl).
Atmosphere is nice though, a lot of ingredient variety compared to other equivalent places nearby!

Lots of choices and good atmosphere. However the broth is bit salty.
That said, be ready to spend $40–$45 per person, which feels excessive. Honestly, every Mala Tang place in Seattle is overpriced — $50 for a bowl? You could easily cook the same thing at home with instant noodles and a few toppings for a fraction of the price.
Overall decent experience, but not worth the cost.
