We got the scallion pancakes, some rice, eggplant with green beans, steamed chicken in chili sauce, and the home style stir fried beef.
The rice is fine. Hard to mess that up.
The scallion pancakes are much thicker than what I’m used to from China or other restaurants in the US so not my favorite.
The chicken was good.
The eggplant and beans had good flavor but were a little too oily.
The stir fried beef’s flavor was subpar compared to similar dishes elsewhere and the texture was a bit slippery.
This is just a review for what we had, but their menu is huge and I’d love to come back and try something else.

Excellent lunch menu bargains at $10. Decent taste and ingredients. Beef and broccoli, stir fried fish and pork with tofu dishes were all excellent

Discovered this place accidently one afternoon and have consistently gone back with friends and family! Want to try everything on their menu but... their food is SO good that we keep going back for the same dishes- the mapu tofu and chopped pepper fish are some of our favs! The service is always pleasant and prompt.
Defs recommend!

I liked the food there. It was light and not greasy. I especially loved the lobster; the portion was generous, and I was very full.

The food is amazing but tonight they were too salty. The flavor is great but it was overwhelmed by the salt taste. I hope they can fix the salt issue in the future!

We came from out of town; saw this place near where we’re staying and just kind of came on a whim. Holy cow, the food was good. So tasty, so flavorful. The sesame seed chicken and fried rice was soooo delicious. I’m so glad we ran into it!

Restaurantji Recommends
Order the Oolong Tea!
For Americans seeking a true taste of China without leaving Washington, Tasty Szechuan offers a remarkable dining journey that blends tradition and approachability. Make sure to ask your waiter for recommendations after you think you know what you want!
The restaurant serves authentic dishes bursting with deep flavors like peppercorn heat, chilis, aromatic spices, and hand-prepared textures that transport you straight to Chengdu. Yet what makes this place special for American diners is its balance. Warm service, generous portions, and beautiful plating make each meal both authentic and welcoming.
In short, Tasty Szechuan isn’t just another Chinese restaurant it’s where American curiosity meets the soul of Sichuan cuisine, crafted with the heart of home cooking and the grace of cross-cultural hospitality.

Had an awesome meal at this spot recently, and I’m still thinking about it.
We got a great spread: crispy fried fish with peanuts, spicy boiled fish filet, string beans with garlic, mapo tofu, and Chongqing chicken. Honestly, the bone in Chongqing chicken is the way to go over the boneless version.
The service was excellent too. Our server was super polite, friendly, and really attentiv. It made the whole experience even better.
If you’re into authentic Sichuan food that delivers on taste and comfort, definitely check it out. In a sea of mediocre sichuan restaurants, this place stands out.

Poor quality overpriced food in a nice ambiance. My friend usually orders food to go from this restaurant so I thought this should be a slam dunk. It was one of the most mediocre Chinese food I’ve had in the Eastside. We ordered Oolong tea and we got Ti Kuan Yin instead. We tried the braised chicken with chestnuts and the cucumber with tofu skins which was served cold. The braised chicken dish barely had any meat. They tossed all the reject parts of the chicken into the dish - neck, chicken feet and leftover bones. I had to fish out any decent portion of a chicken from the plate. Most of the dish was chestnuts - for $30. The tofu skins were very rubbery. Two stars was just because the ambiance in the restaurant was pleasant.

Great Szechuan Chinese food! It’s hard to find authentic quality without going into the ID. The prices however are steep. It’s a treat however not a place we will go often due to the high prices on the menu.
