The most disorganized service ever. 40 minutes for a tea is a joke. I ordered online but still there was so much confusion about my order. Other people who had ordered in store had the same complaint.The drink was fine but not worth the wait.

I go here almost every week, and usually have jasmine tea crystal which is great. Milk foam tastes good in general. And oreo drinks are as expected too. But taro drink lesser sweetened was a bad choice. Don’t get taro milk tea with only 30% sugar level. It tasted like bitter taro paste on bitter milk tea and had 0 sweetness. I had to filter out taro from the drink and add some honey to milk tea when I got home. Another one I didn’t love was camellia tea with 30% sugar level. Maybe their sweetness level isn’t high in general

DECEPTIVE! THEY CHARGE HIDDEN FEES! Watch your receipts. No where does it state there are " fees " for self-checkout. The employees often say they can't take orders, therefore customer have to use self checkout. They charge extra hidden FEES for self-checkout!See photos attached with proof of receipts. Tacking on $0.16 " fees " for their self checkout kiosk. The employees encourage customers to use the kiosk. These are just a few -- we have a stack of receipts with this deceptive hidden " FEES ". And they are doing this to hundreds of orders and stealing from customers. We are going to report them to the Attorney General and BBB.

Sort of average boba. I've tried the jasmine chrysanthemum tea and the strawberry milk tea w foam. Both are tasty but a little on the sweet side. Some drinks default to large but would be nice to have a small. You use a touch screen to order but there are staff to help if you have questions about your order. Plenty seating and cute decor. The shop also shares with Indigo Cow so you can also get soft serve here if you'd like!

I ordered an oolong milk foam with 30% sweet, but the drink tasted like it was 0% sweet. The tea flavor was good and the milk foam was the right amount of salt, but was a little disappointed that it wasn't exactly 30% sweet. My bf got the red bean slush (which he had tried before) and was also a little disappointed because it was not as icy (too liquidy), didn't have enough red bean flavor, and there wasn't enough milk foam. The lack of red bean flavor may have been the fact that they just put less red beans in the drink. As for location, it's in a pretty convenient spot with street parking nearby. The interior is cute and spacious with large seating areas and self serve ordering systems. Overall, not bad, I would give this place another chance too.

Really good boba! I like the milk foam mango tea. The cafe is really pretty inside because of the whale plushies and whale art. I would say this is a good study spot too.

Unfortunately, nothing about this place is redeeming. The tea is bad and the service was nonexistent. Go to Chicha San Chen instead- it's just two blocks away and the best tea in the area!What went wrong at Whale Tea:Tea -The tea is over-steeped and bitter; they try to mask this with extra sugar, but that just makes an overly sweet drink. We tried a milk drink as well and it came out chunky and tasting like the milk was old.Service -The service is literally non-existent and the staff that deliver your tea are abrasive. When we ordered there was no one staffing the counter and we couldn't find normal boba to add into the drinks. The drinks were in the tapioca section, so we figured it was included. To make sure, we added a note asking for boba and tipped extra.When the staff came out to deliver the drinks, they announced to the whole restaurant that we didn't pay for the boba, but that they were "nice enough" to put a small (5 piece) scoop in. We told them we couldn't find it on the menu and they looked at us, didn't say anything, and went back into the kitchen.Looking at the website menu now, I see that my drink _was_ supposed to come with boba. The staff was just wrong.If you're considering boba tea places, go anywhere but here! It's not worth it at all.
