We ordered the sushi and sea bass. Both were good and the Sea Bass was cooked perfectly. For an appetizer we ordered the calamari with two sauces. The crispy calamari was fine; the two dipping sauces were not: both had an odd, off putting taste which made them unpalatable. So we ordered Tartar Sauce. Not a good choice either. The kitchen needs to work on condiments to fit the app.
I've dined here a couple of times and will definitely return. My son and I were there last night to celebrate both of our birthdays as they are a week apart. Want to give a shout out to our server, Alex. He was extremely friendly, polite, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. His attention to detail was outstanding. While water grill is certainly on the high end when it comes to pricing, I have no qualms about spending a little more to dine there. We enjoyed the octopus appetizer followed by the Chilean Seabass and the mahi-mahi. Everything was outstanding. Our tummies were quite full and weren't certain if we wanted dessert, but Alex surprised us with a small skillet cookie (actually three cookies into one) and a scoop of ice cream with the birthday candle. It was delightful! Very thoughtful on his part. The front of house manager also stopped by to say hello and ask us how our meal was going. This is old world, attention, and service that one rarely finds anymore. Water Grill is a quality establishment. Highly recommended!
Usually go downtown when in town for yummy Oysters. I recommend the Fat Bastard , Hama Hama . Samantha gave us excellent service. Thank You!

Overall not the best experience.
We ordered the char grilled fish, which was not clean properly, plenty of scales were left on it. If I am paying $100 for a fish I expect it to be clean at a minimal. The octopus dish also has some hard seeds on it, pretty much biting a little piece of rock. When we let our server know, her respond was simply thats how the dishes are made and told not us not to order with it next time. Not the best service.

Very polite and attentive staff. Food was perfection. Setting very pleasant and easy to have a conversation.
Kind of depressing. The restaurant is HUGE and it was maybe 25% full. Just a weird vibe. The service was good, and the fish was great (seabass), but I don't think we'll go back.
Take my review with a grain a salt. I am not big on sea food and this time I tried a lot of things which was my first time.
But first let's talk about ambience. Absolutely aesthetic - almost a piece of art. So well done, very beautifully done marine theme all around.
Our server was amazing too - very patient and explained the cusines and recommendations with very good knowledge.
Having said that - food ! I tried the lobster with eel sauce sushi and it was amazing. It was my first time trying out Octopus - to be honest I don't know how I felt about it. Not my favourite. The black cod was amazing but the accompanying noodles and broth was about okayish. Maybe it is supposed to taste a bit bland but it wasn't that flavourful. On the other hand the Chillean Sea Bass was exquisite and the addition of gnocchi on the side was very creative from the cook - appreciated the fine dining experience here.
And yep the place is pricey :)

The entire experience is 5 starts. The food, the ambiance, the service- all amazing! The manager Charlene always goes above and beyond to accommodate my family since my baby is between her stroller and a highchair. The food has never missed. It's fresh and flavorful. Our favorites are the clams and chorizo (the french bread that comes with it is heavenly), the lobster, crab cake and mac n cheese. The staff are all very friendly and professional!
We love dining here. But you must be willing to spend a good portion of your paycheck here. Lunch for 3 people cost over $200. Two adults and one kid to be clear. Not complaining but just a fair heads up. We ordered: octopus, clam chowder, tuna tartare, and different kinds of sushi rolls. Not wallet friendly but excellent attentive service and great food. We love and wish we could dine here more often.
So. Much. Salt. I will forever and always remember this restaurant for serving the saltiest meal of all time, and the saltiest item on the menu? The salad. Never in my life have I tasted such a salty salad (if you can call the pinch of leafy greens and HALF A RAW TOMATO as a salad) I ordered the 6oz Prime medium; it was medium in the middle with a drastic transition to well done around the edges. The noodles served in the shrimp scampi were good. Unfortunately the shrimp still had veins hanging from them (this is an especially huge issue for me personally because I find it absolutely disgusting) and not something I expect at a seemingly nice restaurant. The fresh bread was certainly fresh and so soft…and so salty. The service was very good, albeit slow, and the waitress forgot my margarita (brought it swiftly after a reminder) which is a real shame because I would’ve ordered one or maybe two more if there was time - this was the most unique and delicious margarita I’ve ever had! All in all, it was…enjoyable but based on location and the competition in the area I expected more.

No flavor in any of the food we got. I got the crabcake, beet salad, chicken, shrimp Louis salad. Note to chef: you need to add more garlic, onion, and salt to your food if you want people to come back. It reminded me of that time I had Covid when I lost my sense of taste. That’s what it felt like eating dinner here. A Covid meal. I’m being totally serious. You’re gonna have to up the flavor in all of your food if you plan on staying in business. Also, it would have been nice if the waiter had asked us if we wanted our parking validated. Too much money to spend for nobody at our table to enjoy their food.
We had such an amazing experience here that we ended up coming back multiple times in one weekend. Our waiter, Simon, was a huge part of why we returned—he took exceptional care of us every single visit. Definitely trust his recommendations, especially when it comes to oysters. He knows the menu inside and out, and everything he suggested was spot-on.
The food itself was outstanding across the board, and the atmosphere made each meal feel special. If you’re visiting during Snowflake Lane, this is the perfect place to enjoy great food while taking in the show. Highly recommend, and make sure to ask for Simon!

The food at The Water Grill continues to be excellent, but this visit was significantly impacted by a very poor interaction with management.
Nicole’s handling of the situation was unprofessional, dismissive, and completely lacked basic hospitality. The way she spoke to our table was rude and unnecessary, and it immediately shifted the tone of the evening. For a restaurant of this caliber, that kind of management behavior is unacceptable and left a lasting negative impression.
That said, the food itself remains strong. The seafood tower was fresh and beautifully done. The spiny lobster was excellent, the steak was cooked perfectly, compliments to the chef, and the calamari was great. The sundae and key lime pie were also delicious and a solid way to end the meal.
This used to be our regular Friday spot, and I was planning to book the private room here for a birthday celebration. After my experience with Nicole, I will not be moving forward with that, and we will now be finding a new Friday restaurant.
The Water Grill clearly has talented chefs and a strong menu, but management interactions matter. One poor encounter can undo years of loyalty, and unfortunately, that is exactly what happened here.

Food was great. We have been before and wanted to come back but I wish I would have waited somewhere else. The server was having a bad day or something, not welcoming at all, very stern face. She reminded me me of a catholic school teacher that is at the end of her rope. Didn’t go into the menu at all, we literally heard her begins us describing the dessert menu but when we went to order oysters, it was like a short order cook at Dennys. Hurry up and let me go take my break. I only gave two stars because of the service we had last time we were here. Avoid this place if you don’t want to spend big money on bad service, Megan….do better.
