We were customers of whole food in Florida and NJ. I must say we are very disappointed by the one in Bellingham. This Friday we went to buy fish around 4 PM. The choice was very limited. However, my wife asked for mussels. half of the mussels were opened...meaning not fresh at all. My wife had to ask to not have the dead one. The answer was "this will take time...". I am stunned that a store like whole food even proposes to customers seafood that is obviously not fresh!

The hot food bar is exquisite! Large selection of healthy foods/and or comfort foods obviously prepared with love and care!! My boyfriend turned me on to dining here because you can get a whole plate of quality food for under $6 so long as you're not piling up a bunch of heavy food items, you pay by weight so just pay attention and you have a filling healthy meal for under $6 and you don't have anyone to tip! Another thing is,their ginger shots at the juice bar/coffee stand are so fresh and amazing! The ginger goes down smooth and isn't as harsh as the ginger I juice at home.

Yelp really needs a zero star rating for reviewers to use!! This whole foods is a joke! Perhaps because it's the most northernmost location in Washington that they don't get a visit from corporate management?? Dirty and unkempt, the seafood is old and dangerously past it's point of being healthy to eat! They rotate their meats and seafood and sell you the oldest to get it out of their inventory, twice now we have gotten sick from their salmon and halibut.. and also I got sick from their lamb burger sold in the meat case. The food on the self serve hot and cold bars are really really bad! The salads are days and days old and the hot food is old crusted and dried out, they do not care about presenting fresh and healthy food, they only care about selling their inventory to profit! The employees are also dirty and unkempt and extremely unfriendly and uncaring! Don't even attempt to ask the wine manager if they have a certain varietal, his arrogance, snobbishness and complete lack of customer service skills and lack of any skill for that matter will knock you for a loop! OMG! This man thinks he's goddddddd. No more, bye-bye bye.. Please folks don't even bother going there... I promise you, you will be extremely disappointed and possibly get very sick.

Love the quality and selection of their products, and the friendly staff. I especially enjoy their freshly made food court, their bakery, and their large selection of beers and wines. Parking is surprisingly easily. Whenever you think there will be no parking you always find some available stalls. Access is pretty easy along Lakeway Drive, Lincoln Street, and the freeway nearby. Contrary to popular belief, their prices are quite affordable considering the quality of their products.

I have to confess: I prefer shopping at Whole Foods to the Co-op. I know, heresy, right? Here's why: Prices. I definitely save money at WF. We buy mostly organic foods, and WF is way more affordable than the Co-op. We're on a budget, and saving money on our groceries is a big deal. House brands are a great value. For all of the basics for us, fruits, veg, eggs, chicken, WF has better prices. Prime members save even more. Atmosphere: WF is way more chill than the Co-op. I feel less stressed shopping at WF. Aisles are wider, stuff is easy to find, the pace is slower. Even the parking lot is less crazy. Staff: WF staff have been very helpful and friendly, and the cashiers are very professional. I know people work hard at WF, but they handle it well. It's clearly a well managed store.

We have frequented Whole Foods since it’s start in Bellingham. While the grocery choices are still good we’ve noticed a very inconsistent food quality in the food service area; specifically the pizza quality is becoming worse than most chains. You really never know how your slice is going to taste, the dough is inconsistent. One day crispy the next time chewy?

This is a great go-to for cheap, fast, and fresh. Their hot veggie dishes are always good. But they never seem to be in a rush to actually get the hot food out on time. I've been there several times for both lunch and dinner and wasn't able to make a hot plate because the food wasn't yet ready. So I had to go elsewhere. I'm not talking odd hours either, but prime time-- 11:45 for lunch and 5:00 pm for dinner. Today, for example, I was there at 5 pm with my toddler, hoping for some dinner. I had to leave with just side veggies because half the hot food (the proteins, no less) wasn't out yet and my hungry toddler was getting antsy to go and eat his pizza. I even went back after he ate the pizza and I ate my sad little side veggies (about 5:30) and the rest of the hot food STILL wasn't out! And the last three times I have been there they haven't had clean forks. For a company that likes to shame all plastic use (so glad you got rid of straws and are announcing it to the world but what about all the other non-biodegradable and/or plastic ware you use in your barista shops?), they might should get them forks washed with a sense of urgency so we don't have to kill the planet on their plastic ones. When the food is out it's good! It's just a shame that it's a 50/50 gamble, considering it's a grocery store.

Quality of Whole Foods has gone down. Shelves not being stocked. Vegetables were better quality across the street at Fred Meyer. Still carries their good hummus which I really like. I was very disappointed in this store.

I love everything about this place! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! Great selection! You can order an entire delicious, catered vegan feast to pick up for the holidays with mushroom stuffing and mashed cauliflower and gravy! And all their prepared foods are so delicious... Do I even have to mention their bakery...?!?? Best bakery ever! Wood fired pizza is tooooo good (although they don't have a plain brown Mustard, like a non-spicy Brown Mustard, so let me know where in town I can get that...?)

The shopping is great, only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 is the price for food for takeout. I paid almost $30 for a salad, a small amount of Spanish rice, barely a spoonful of Mac and cheese (for my four year old), and a couple slices of bacon. I was disappointed upon check out.

Went to Whole Foods on a Friday night to pick up some fresh desserts as well as some milk and fresh fruit for the morning. Also went back in the morning to get everything we needed which was a latte, breakfast sandwich, croissants and from the buffet some bacon and scrambled eggs. Hit the spot, it was delicious.

UPDATE: Whole Foods customer service passed me off to the Store Manager Otto who couldn't be bothered to A: Get my name right or B: Do anything at all. Zero response after I informed him he got my name wrong. Shame. Not professional. I SO wanted to love this Whole Foods but every single time I visit I get my hopes destroyed. Let's skip past the employees who obviously hate the place and their discussions of a "points system" whatever that is and move onto the fact that they never seem ready to be busy. Pictures WILL follow every point here. Empty pizza trays at 11:45am staying empty until past noon. Burrito station with the monitors not working so you don't know what you can add to your bowl/burrito. Attitude coming in the form of "the choices are listed above" and when I point out the broken monitor they simply say " again?" Amazing. Just what I want to hear as a customer. Empty shelves and a constant herd of upper management who block the isles I'm trying to shop in. Jesus get a conference room instead of getting in the way of people who are actively trying to give you money. When I brought up my concerns they try to throw a gift card at me, which I don't want. I want competent management like they have at other locations and a staff that actually cares.

This is the antithesis to my concept of a neighborhood grocery store. I was looking for sprouts among other things. The guy stocking produce said, "We don't carry them anymore." The other items I bought were high priced compared to the other 3 grocery choices I use in town. The young checker was very aggressive in trying to convince me to sign up for discounts through Amazon Prime. And then "Did you find everything?", followed by his insistence that they must carry sprouts. Well, they don't. So I just want to check out and go elsewhere to get my sprouts, but more encouragement to fill out the card so I could get my Amazon Prime discount. I ignore this and start making out my check. "You don't plan on writing a check, do you? You can't here. Almost nobody takes checks anymore." Well, I pay by check at every other grocery store in town, and most other places I shop in Bellingham. I use Amazon for a lot of things, but don't like the slick corporate feel of their grocery store presentation. Back to the Co-op or Haggens.

Whole Foods is always a great place to shop and eat. They offer such a huge variety of prepared foods that no matter how big your party, everyone can find something to eat. I've always like the pizza at Whole Foods markets and this location is no different. Good tasty pizza and beer that you can eat while watching a game on the TV usually located over the bar. Although some Whole Foods have even more selections of ready to go food, I think this location still had enough, and the salad bar and a lot of selections to build your own.
