The food is usually great, but this time things were underdone or just not up to the norm. The service was great as was the ambience.
They were clearly understaffed and they were out of 2 of the 4 halibut specials that were heavily advertised. I'm hoping this was an isolated experience as they are usually much better.
Servers and kitchen staff rushed off their feet, not their fault be resulted in awful service. Halibut special was terrible , looked like trimmings rather than fillet - clearly the kitchen had run out of seasoning !
My girlfriend from CA had dinner at Anthony's. I always take visitors there wile they are here. She had seared scallops and clam chowder; I had clam chowder and the rhubarb with roasted hazelnut nuts seasonal salad. Everything was delicious and she raved about hoe perfectly cooked. I, as always loved the chowder and enjoyed the mix of flavors and ingredients.
Anthony’s is fantastic…..if you eat at the restaurant. If you place a ‘to go’ order, however, prepare to be highly disappointed. The prices are markedly higher for to-go orders and the portion sizes are drastically smaller. For example, I placed an order for clam chowder and dungeness crab dip recently. The crab dip is $20 for in-house dining, but I was charged $26 as a to-go order and the portion size was 1/3 (see pictures attached) of what I would have received in the restaurant. The same scenario happened with the clam chowder. The food is delicious, but only eat at the restaurant.

My favorite restaurant and has been for quite sometime.

Oyster Festival food items, all excellent. As the festival ends on the 28th, a lot of the oyster types weren't available. Making up a 12 oyster platter was daunting and more money. But our server was excellent. She made easier to figure out
Nice experience if just a bit pricey. A great meal all in all.

The halibut was so overcooked it was like eating cardboard. I should really have sent it back. I expected much better from a seafood restaurant. The service was good, however, so overall two stars instead of one.

Vegetarian options: Bread was warmed in microwave, not a conventional oven. It was soft and chewy instead of crisp and 'bread-y'.

We went here for our anniversary. We made a reservation, and it was a Thursday.
It was surprisingly packed, and we had to wait about 15-20 minutes before we got seated. I thought our server was a lady in a white shirt, but we wound up being mostly helped by another lady in a blue shirt.
The clam appetizer was solid, though one didn't open, and a handful were very tiny. Our server got us some more clams due to that, and that was nice.
Dungeness crab dip was tasty, but the amount was kind of small, for the price.
My husband got a ribeye and prawns. He had asked for his ribeye mid rare, but it was on the rarer side. He didn't want to wait for a refire, and it was good enough, so he just ate it. Prawns were tasty. Surprisingly, the potatoes were amazing.
I had scallops with potatoes and some brussel sprouts. Sprouts were kinda tough, but again, the potatoes were fantastic. I had two overdone scallops, but the rest were fine. I didn't particularly want to wait for another set. It was fine.
The cocktails were pretty solid, though. We definitely enjoyed those. The huckleberry cheesecake they had was also lovely.
So, it was still good, just not epic. I dunno if we'd come back.
