We rented the upstairs room for our company holiday party this year and it was AMAZING! Sydney and her team of servers and bartenders made the night seamless and enjoyable for everyone. The room was decorated adorably, the food and drinks were incredible and they were able to accommodate for some dietary restrictions, and it didn’t break the bank. One of the best party experiences- thanks Bantam!!

I think I’m officially done with this place. I got the Garlic Herb Fried Chicken which was $28. It came with a “schnitzel-like” fried chicken filet and it was covered in pesto? Not exactly what I was expecting. It also came with “Texas Toast” but it was actually just a lame piece of white bread which was completely soggy due to the fact that they covered the whole thing in pesto? It came with no sides except some coleslaw. So coleslaw and chicken for $28. And the chicken was soggy and once again covered in pesto? My mom got the 1 piece fried meal. I swear to god we both got the exact same amount of chicken but her plate was $6 cheaper and it came with coleslaw and a biscuit vs some lame white bread? Unfortunately the breading doesn’t stay on the chicken. It was well seasoned but the breading don’t stick! My son got the hot chicken. The buffalo sauce was too vinegary for me. He ate about half and was good. This place is definitely not worth the price. I still can’t get over how they smothered the whole thing in pesto? When they first opened, this place was the bomb. But not no more.

Nothing about the experience was excellent, but I’m particularly disappointed with the food. For starters, the seating was unpleasant as we were sat in the front area right in front of the window next to a table of six, despite having reservations and the place being nearly empty. The service was fine but not great for how not busy it was. They were out of two dishes we asked for, which I can somewhat understand since it’s a small-ish restaurant, but the server didn’t know that until they went to the kitchen and then came back minutes later and told us. Any server in any restaurant should know what the kitchen has in stock, period. The food was incredibly disappointing. Yes, the portions were good sizes, but the flavor was either very bland or so intense (in a bad way) it was almost inedible. If this was a brewery or a place that happened to have food, but specialized in other things AND it was half the price. I’d be less disappointed. But this is a moderately pricey restaurant that specializes in chicken… Overall, a total waste.

The food was just okay at best, some of it pretty unpalatable (the sauce for the golden chicken, for instance, was mouth-puckering-ly sweet & sour and not in a good way). Have had comparable chicken sandwiches at fast food restaurants. The coleslaw was laughable - just chopped cabbage.
This isn’t the worst meal I have ever had, but your money is better spent elsewhere.

My wife found this spot for fried chicken on maps and we decided to come here for dinner. The staff were attentive all through out our visit and were very helpful. We got peach sparkling lemonade, special astoria waldorf salad with rotisserie chicken and spicy fried jerk chicken with pineapple habanero sauce. The lemonade was delightful and punchy. The salad was delicious and crunchy. The rotisserie chicken went perfectly with it. The fried chicken with the jerk seasoning was amazing, although the habanero sauce was bone hit-tingly tart which I had trouble finishing. The cole slaw was great too. Contrary to other entrees, I felt the portion size was small for the price as I was still hungry after my meal. A decent place though.
Fried chicken is way too sweet and very costly! Do not recommend.

Had a lovely dinner to try the fried chicken, but we were actually more impressed with the rotisserie chicken. Split a half fried chicken and a quarter rotisserie chicken, and it was so much food! Their portions are very generous, we probably could've split just one half chicken dish. The sides were also excellent. Excited to return and try more things on the menu!

Bantam is hands down my favorite restaurant in Bellingham, and for good reason. If you’re looking for amazing chicken, this place is a must-visit. Their dishes are perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. Whether you’re craving classic fried chicken or something more inventive, Bantam delivers every time.
The service is just as impressive as the food. The servers are friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about making your experience special. It’s refreshing to dine somewhere that feels both professional and personal.
On top of the fantastic food and service, the atmosphere is something to rave about. Bantam has such a cool, laid-back vibe that makes it the perfect spot for a casual meal or a special night out. The décor is stylish and unique, and it feels like the kind of place that welcomes everyone.
If you’re in Bellingham and haven’t tried Bantam yet, do yourself a favor and go. Great food, incredible service, and a memorable ambiance—it doesn’t get better than this.

Sit upstairs.....it's so cute.
The food is great. It's obviously 90% chicken.
I don't eat meat but I love it here.
I eat the salads!
For a place that specializes in chicken, they didn’t have much chicken.
Both my girlfriend and I are gluten-free. We went there about a month ago.
We were informed that they were all out of rotisserie chicken, and I said it was highly unusual that they run out of rotisserie chicken.
We were directed towards the pulled pork as a gluten-free option. So we ordered that as some cocktails. The pulled pork was good and so were the cocktails.
We went back there yet yesterday and asked if they had rotisserie chicken. We were informed that they didn’t have any rotisserie chicken and they only serve rotisserie chicken on the weekends.
That pretty much limited us to the pulled pork. We chose to dine elsewhere.
I doubt we’ll bother trying again
Today was the second time one person in our (small) party didn’t receive their meal on time because the server straight forgot. Ended up waiting 15 minutes or more for the meal & at that point we were pretty much done and ready to leave. Seemed like the server was short staffed, there was no other server downstairs & it was rather full, so I’m sure others experienced something similar.
Bantam serves delicious fried chicken and other dishes.
If you're looking for fantastic chicken, Bantam is the place to go. I tried their chicken wings and it was absolutely phenomenal. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly – incredibly juicy on the inside with a super satisfyingly crispy skin on the outside. The seasoning was spot-on – flavorful without being overwhelming. You can tell they put care into getting it right. The sides were great too, especially the mac and cheese.
