I have been going to Brandywine for years but the last year or so it’s really gone downhill with its food. What’s disappointing is that it used to be super local and fresh, burgers were incredible, salads were fresh, and we loved their food! What they lacked in ambience and fast service was made up for in food quality.
Now the food leaves a lot to be desired and the main issue is the proteins. I used to get the delicious orchard salad but when I ordered it last week the chicken was so incredibly salty that it was barely edible. The “grilled chicken” was clearly the kind you buy precooked in strips and heat up. My partner ordered a sandwich with the same chicken and it was seriously inedible. We also got the BLT and there were no tomatoes, just a weird sort of marinara that made the bread soggy and one tiny slice of avocado in the whole sandwich. It was strange.
The burgers used to be SO GOOD but they are also now clearly premade and very very salty patties. Also almost inedible. The other thing we ordered was a Bahn mi rice bowl that had so much fat in the pork that it barely had any actual meat. For $18 a large bowl of mainly rice and very very fatty pork is steep.
I’m so sad as this place used to have very high quality and reliable food. I know cutting corners is inevitable in this economy but serving premade grocery-store-like chicken breast strips instead of grilled chicken is not it. People notice, especially those of us who have been going a long time.
Brandywine Kitchen nails it—local, fresh, and full of soul. The sandwiches? Phenomenal. The fries? Crispy golden miracles. The house sauces? Next level. You can taste the care in every bite.
Whether you’re grabbing a hearty lunch or settling in for a casual dinner, this spot delivers comfort food with craft-level execution. Bonus points for the warm, welcoming vibe and a menu that honors seasonal ingredients without being pretentious.
This place makes Bellingham proud. Go hungry, leave smiling.
The fish and chips were delicious
I ordered a tofu rice bowl and it was really sub par. Bland, boring, heavy on the rice and not in any way interesting. It was my birthday lunch, so I was especially disappointed with a caliber of the food.
The veggie burger and fries were great.
However, the Mac and cheese was saturated and flavorless. It almost tasted like a greasy mess, highly disappointing for a $17 dish.
Love this place as a celiac. Friendly service and good times
Beer and food, good prices
Excellent laid-back place with courteous staff.
First time and it was super nice restaurant.

I have celiac and the gluten free options were phenomenal. I had the Korean chicken burger and the mac and cheese. Both were amazing, I haven’t had a breaded chicken burger since diagnosis years ago and that’s one of the things I desperately miss. There’s also not a crazy up charge for a gluten free bun, I think it was $1 to switch the bun. They also marked on the order that I was celiac so the cooks knew. I’m super symptomatic and didn’t get sick. Unfortunately I don’t live around here or I would be a regular there, but will definitely be going back next time I’m in town!

Came here for a party....Awful! Very pricey. Saw signs everywhere saying the special of the day was "kids eat free" so we went up and ordered. The lady gives me the receipt and the price is much higher than anticipated. I asked why? She said they were unable to accommodate their specials. I was charged. I told her there were signs everywhere, even right by the register and she never stated that at all during my transaction. She said sorry and said she couldn't return my money I'd have to call in the morning and talk to the manager.
The food came out pretty quickly. The only highlight. Unfortunately, it was bland and the fries were burnt.
First time here. And last time.

Wheelchair accessibility: One entrance, accessible from the sidewalk, no stairs or ramps. The interior is spacious compared to other venues, not crowded with tables, so mobility should be easy.
