I can’t believe this restaurant has a 4.7 review. The restaurant did not have one clean table despite the fact that there was hardly any any business during the lunch hour and the person taking our order had ample time to clean tables. Secondly, the overall condition of the restaurant was disgusting to say the least lastly, when our food did finally come, it was a soggy sandwich that required soaking it up on napkins just to be able to eat it. I’ve always left a 20% or higher tip when placing my order but after this experience, I’m going to pay cash upfront so that I can let the tip reflect our experience postmeal going forward if I was able to give a negative review I would in this instance.

Loved their Butifarra (roasted pork) sandwich. The bread was light and the meat was delicious. Be sure to pay in cash as there is a 3% surcharge on cards.
Very tasty and I’ll definitely visit again the next time I’m in Bellingham.

So disappointed!! I used to visit Cafe Rumba all the time with my husband and I'd get the #4. It was fantastic! Lately, the chicken is highly over seasoned that it just isn't enjoyable (and super dry) and the sandwiches are burnt sooo badly. What used to be a 10/10 sandwich has turned into a 2-3 at best. Also they have forgotten our potatoes the last 2 orders, so you're paying almost 17 bucks for a single sandwich that isn't high-quality anymore. Our last time we visited may end up actually being our last time now, unless changes are made.

I love Cafe Rumba, it’s one of my favorite places downtown to grab a bite to eat. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and you get a good sized portion for the price. I’ve been visiting Cafe Rumba for over ten years and have no plans to stop!!

Used to be stellar sandwiches! Absolutely fantastic. But they have recently changed the recipes and it leaves something to be desired. The chicken is now covered in a stifling amount of cumin. The shoestring potatoes are gone from the sandwiches!
It feels like measured have been taken to cheapen the sandwiches and it tastes that way too. But they certainly haven’t gotten any less expensive for the consumer. I would be so overjoyed if they’d go back to their original recipe.
Also, restaurant seems dirtier than I recall it being in the last decade. The surfaces more sticky. The windows more condensated with humidity.

Just delicious. We were in Bellingham for the day and wanted something different for lunch. We got just that at the hip small Peruvian sandwich joint. Pictured is the #7, a chicken and chorizo sandwich with sandwich veggies and a side of shatteringly crisp yucca fries. The huge sandwich was delicious, I could only eat 1/2, the fries and remaining 1/2 will be dinner. Great friendly staff were fun folks. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, especially the platter of fish tacos. I'll be back sooner than later. Rumba alone would be worth the 80 minute drive.

I went to Cafe Rumba while I was in Bellingham for an appointment. I ordered the oreo cheesecake. It was absolutely AMAZING!! The woman I ordered from was equally amazing and attentive. I can't wait to go back when im in the area again. I will absolutely stop by every time I get the chance, what an amazing find! 100% recommended.
