The ultimate Fairhaven/Bellingham experience. Warm cozy atmosphere located in the heart of beautiful historic Fairhaven. Food is alway fresh and tastes amazing. This is why I come back time and time again. One of the few spots left here in Whatcom County that still offers some good old fashioned customer service.

Every time we are in Fairhaven (Bellingham) from Seattle, this is our go to spot to eat and get some drinks! We spend all day in the Village Books which is connected, so it is very easy to go from one to the other. The staff is excellent, the food/drinks are fantastic, and the prices are great! We always look forward to being treated as guests instead of just a paying customer. Thank you!

Take a late lunch in one of their booths, bring a book or some friends, and prepare for the timeless cafe experience that is otherwise missing from Bellingham, WA. The warm lighting and generous space lull you into relaxation just before you are rewarded with a steaming pot pie chock full of vegetables and tender chicken. Delete a slice of their peanut butter pie afterward for an optimal experience. Thanks to Julia, who was cheery, hardworking, and made us tasty cocktails.

This place is incredible. Not a bad thing about it. A true gem within Fairhaven. The food, atmosphere, staff, are all well above par. Easily one of my very favorite places to eat

The food, drinks desserts and staff are incredible here. Personal favorites are the peanut butter pie, the potato wedges, super food salad, and peanut soup! Oh and of course the pickles! Colophon has been a staple of fairhaven for many years, and I always look forward to stopping in :)

One of our favorite places, bellies always feel good when we leave. Wholesome, healthy, comforting sandwiches and soups and bakery items. Cool location on the Fairhaven Village Green with cozy historic inside seating,
plus a beautiful patio for dining 'plein air'.
Staff is friendly and attentive.
It's the first place we bring out of town visitors.

Super friendly staff, super cozy environment and really good food. I had the sirachi fries and the French dip sandwich. Everything was seasoned and so delicious. Really appreciate how warm and friendly the staff is too.

Love loved the vibes and the food. I was really excited that there was gluten free options, for a lot of their dishes and ability to sub for gluten free options. Food was amazing.

We went to Colophon cafe and unfortunately had a very rude server. They have a nice patio. However, the pastries were stale and probably from the day before.

Even before we lived in Bellingham, we'd drive up to eat at the Colophon (and visit Village Books). It's been a favorite lunch or dinner spot of ours since the 90s.
The soups are excellent (especially the peanut soup) as are the sandwiches and salads. They do have gluten free bread available. Service is always really attentive. And, we really appreciate the changing selection of cocktails (favorites are the Winter Margarita, the Bee's Knees, and the Old Fashioned.)

I ordered the Shakshuka. The taste was fine but it came with only one egg. I asked the waitress for a second egg and explained to her that one egg is not enough for the dish. If you’ve ever had Shakshuka, it’s an egg dish and without enough eggs you’re left with just tomato sauce.
I got charged for the extra egg, was not going to argue with their policy but they should make adequate amount of food for what they’re charging.

Pretty good overall experience. Just a slight downfall was that the waiter could have come around a little more often to ask if anything was needed vs us having to look around to flag him down still recommend the place

I was pretty disappointed during my recent visit. I haven’t been to the Colophon in quite some time and my experience this time was not up to the quality I’ve always experienced before. The food was not good, I was laughed at for being surprised that they didn’t carry non-fat milk, and the wait person was snippy and condescending. I was really caught off guard by this. I will not be going back which is unfortunate. Fairhaven is changing as things do but I’m finding it losing much of its community connections.
