This is a hard review to write because I have two friends who really like El Sueñito. But I will merely share my personal opinion after two visits. I'm vegetarian and when I visited the first time the menu listed several veg tamales but they were all marked out as unavailable except one (mushroom & cheese). This was probably because they had opened this location recently. I thought the mushroom tamale was dry and bland. On this visit, four veg tamales were available and two were unavailable. I got the lunch special with the soyrizo tamale and rice and beans. I thought everything was bland. I definitely could try something other than the tamales, but that doesn't help me with the rice and beans. Service was super friendly and helpful, and I like the open and clean feel of the seating, but I wish I enjoyed the food.

This place was so cool, beer is great, food is fantastic. Breakfast is awesome, and the temales are so, so, good. Highly recommend!

Sweet spot to grab a tamale and a beer! Delicious, beautiful plates (that doesn’t totally break the bank either). Love the outdoor space and heaters too!

El Sueñito is one of my favorite places to spend my money in Bellingham. I love the bright and yummy Mexican representation this place contributes to the community. Girl, we talking like Mexican-owned!Food? Amazing. Drinks? Delish. Music? Falls short, honestly. As a Mexican American, I want to feel like one establishment in town is playing beats for ME! I'm not asking for an all Spanish set list, but there are some incredible Latino artists to incorporate that won't scare away the crowds. Just sayin.

Great atmosphere, a little chilly inside. But it's 20 outside. However, they need to study Spanish. Rojo literally means red. So getting a green salsa Verde served on a salsa rojo tamale is very weird. The Verde over powers the rojo pork. It should be a red sauce to compliment the red pork . My wife specifically asked for a rojo sauce and we received a spicy green Verde. And the bartender even said that's our rojo when she questioned itThe menu is even green letters for Verde and red for rojo.Everything else was great. Even the green rojo sauce is good. Lol.

Always a good bet for clean tasting Mexican food and such great beer to go with in a very casual, fun and upbeat atmosphere.. open space especially nice on a sunny day (lol), the taste is spot on and amazing--I love the vibe especially if you're with a large group or with family.

Fun place to go on a sunny day to have a beer and very good Tamales. They are a good size and full of meat so you really only need one if you get the Tamales plate vs most small Tamales. The beans are excellent and above average and the rice is good. The service comes with a smile and the people working here seem vested in having pride in doing there job. Don't hesitate to give this place a try.

Really good pale ales and IPAs (I’m sure they have other good beers but I couldn’t try them all) and the staff are super friendly. Really good food too, can’t wait to come back.
