This might be my new favorite restaurant. Food is amazing and the bartenders make the best cocktails. I really felt like I was at a bistro in Paris. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion.
This was a very special occasion: at long last, I was treating foodie friends who have cooked "gourmet" for me for years. Estelle did me proud: Quiet booth in a corner, attentive smiling service, and ooh la la the food! The fare is truly seasonal, its textures and flavors exquisite, right down to the fried carrot tops! Even when a dozen shrill-voiced young ladies in high spirits arrived and stole our server, the noise level remained reasonable and another server made sure we weren't neglected. When Estelle was new, there was too much duck on the menu for my taste, but now the selections are balanced among fish, beef, and vegetarian. I live a block away, so as high-end as Estelle is, I'm going to indulge more often because E is worth every dollar.
We stopped in tonight after being disappointed in the menu that Carnal was serving for their final night. We drove from Seattle and stayed over night in Bellingham. Estelle was recommended by our hotel and we loved all the food! We especially enjoyed being waited on by Mack. She was awesome. We'll be back soon!
The service and food were excellent. Anthony the waiter is an asset for the restaurant. We enjoyed everything: Oldfashioneds, beet salad, frites and black cod.
We love this place, food is great, atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is very good. We love going here. They are good at accommodating my wife's celiac issues.
Such welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and kind staff. Cocktails were exceptionally creative and enjoyed. Wine was perfectly paired with our tastes and likes. Food was extraordinary!! Very original presentations of and fresh flavors in our three salads (beet, little gems, and heirloom tomatoes). Duck confit was perfection. Dessert creme brulee amazing. Looking forward to returning.
A thoroughly delightful and delicious dining experience with friends. Friendly and helpful staff, great service, beautiful atmosphere. All in all a fabulous dining experience!
Estelle's first wine dinner was a delight. It was casual, well orchestrated, and full of unusual wines that were explained by their importer. The six courses were absolutely delicious, accompanied by the chef's heartfelt descriptions. Service was perfect. We look forward to seeing what else new ownership has in mind.
Estelle has the look: a dim, French-kissed jazz bar where the lights are low, the cocktails whisper Paris, and the promise of a perfect night hangs in the air. When the kitchen hits, it’s sublime—the kind of meal that makes you swear you’ve found the best table in Whatcom County.
But consistency kills the romance. One visit it’s magic; the next the bread’s dry, the meat soggy, the service indifferent. At the prices they charge, that roulette gets old fast.
Go when you’re feeling lucky and want a little Parisian smoke with your gamble. Just know the house doesn’t always win—and neither will you.

We had a lovely evening. Amazing cocktails. Attentive and knowledgable staff. The bartender even gave us some tips for making cocktails at home. Beautifully made black cod. Best fries ever! Great burger. Dessert to die for. Copper River salmon cooked to perfection. We'll be back, many times.

A really lovely experience from beginning to end. Food was delicious, service was terrific. The Duck confit was such a welcome and delightful menu choice and tasted like I was at a much higher end restaurant. Very bistro vibe for the center of Fairhaven. LOVED ESTELLE.
The chef is amazing! Keep up the good work under the new owner. Estelle's has evolved into the best Bellingham restaurant.
Love the vibe. Great cocktails and food. Really surprised to find this place in Fairhaven.
Excellent cocktails and delicious eats. Lovely patio and attentive staff. Will definitely be back.
Though not the same choice of entree, this time(2nd) was disappointing. Duck confit was maybe 4 0f 5 stars (the duck itself), but sat upon a sauce (aoli?) that was the same as under under my beet salad. Why? Was there extra in the refrigerator? Uninspired. Given the lack of competition in Bellingham, they'll probably hang on, but, if they do, it will be because of their beverages. Good bartender. Server, meh.
