If you consider yourself a foodie, don't bother coming here.

My wife and I tried this place while in Bellingham for our 2-year anniversary. This place left a lot to be desired. It wasn't a particularly busy night for them and the service took a long time. Our reservation started at 6pm, and we didn't leave the restaurant until 8pm.

The drink menu was okay - good wine selection, solid beer selection and the cocktails looked good.

The food menu reads delicious, but what comes to the table is far from it. I ordered the seared duck which arrived very overcooked and dry (the meat was grey) and was lacking salt. My wife ordered the pasta Siciliana which was bland. The mushrooms that came with both dishes were rubbery and tasted like oil. We also ordered two appetizers: roasted beets and fried brussel sprouts. I liked the beets, and the sprouts were okay.

The location is in a quiet, nice part of Agate Bay, but the upkeep of the restaurant, particularly the outdoors, was under par. We sat outside next to many spider webs and the patio was unlevel so the table wobbled.

Overall, pretty disappointed with our experience as this place had good reviews on Yelp and Google, but for the price we paid ($225), I expected a more polished experience.

I don’t understand why anyone would give this place more than 1 star. Food was awful and insanely expensive. Brie tasted really weird with cut up dried fruit and sliced almonds from a bag. Literally should have just baked any cheap Brie from Safeway and it would have been 100x better. Clams tasted bitter and old while the broth tasted like a mix of mayo and mustard. Was disgusting. Scallops were ok but didn’t taste fresh and the risotto was bland and mushy. Duck breast had some chewy bits I had to spit out and the confit was just dry shredded duck meat on one romaine lettuce piece. The meal was $200 for 2 ppl, no drinks no dessert.

Honestly this is one of the worst meals we’ve ever had. I wish I would have gone to McDonalds or even Safeway prepared food is 1000000x tastier.

No lake views and stuffy and humid inside with flies everywhere.

Servers were nice but service was very slow.

Please avoid. I’m hoping i don’t get sick from the seafood.

I feel like the restaurant is trying to look more upscale but the cook is terrible and even messed up baked Brie.

Waited an hour for takeout. How do you have hour long ticket times and not say something when someone orders takeout.

I messaged ahead to ask about vegan options for my date, who was craving a burger. Dave replied and offered to acquire a portobello mushroom specifically to accommodate us. This level of thoughtfulness is rare. Great people, great atmosphere, and great food.

Lovely, quaint, casual place. Jazzy blues music is a nice touch. Great outdoor seating near roadside, but limited traffic. Nice, strong mimosa. Parking is fine. They seem to be short staffed today, serving a large party so, super slow service and medium temp food. I'd still come back but hoping for a better experience.

Poor, inattentive service.
Water for dog not offered.
No bread.
No anchovies on Cesar salad.
No ice for our water.
Patio overgrown with weeds, bushes not trimmed; grass growing in cracks in bricks.
Entrees good.

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. This is one of my favorite spots for brunch or dinner. A true gem away from downtown for food and a date

No label on menu indicating if anything is or can be made vegan. It looks like there are virtually zero options.

Cozy, lovely outdoor patio surrounded by flowers, great fresh food and lovingly prepared. Our waitress was so accommodating to my dairy issue and we had some fantastic wine and a each had delightful meal there. A perfect spot for our lake Whatcom summer evening! We will be back!
Many thanks!!

Vegetarian options: Arugula salad was wonderful and Vegetarian pizza yummy as well.

Dietary restrictions: No cheese or milk for me but they could easily accommodate that! Great staff!

First time here. We ordered shrimp and grits as well as Beignets. The grits came in a spicy cajun broth, looked and smelled great. Even with the seasoned broth, though, the grits and shrimp were very bland. The Beignets had a burnt flavor, and the exterior was pretty hard. The sauces that came with them were in very small quantity. The raspberry sauce tasted good. Service and ambiance were great. Prices were fairly high.

I’m consistently impressed by this local gem. The dining room is beautiful and cozy. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Everything I’ve ordered has been delicious. The brunch beignets are a must!

If this place was half the price and right outside my door, I'd still go somewhere else. Servers were wonderful, give them a raise.

Our compliments to the chef, the owner and the amazing staff!! We accidentally drove past this hidden gem, did a u turn and spent 5 days eating here. So unbelievably good. A great happy hour menu. Delicious ribs and shishistos. On regular menu our faves the dungeness crab and brie. For breakfast shrimp and grits were delicious. Hubby tried the sausage, olive mushroom pizza. I wasn't a fan. Too dry. But he liked it. And one more time, an amazing staff, especially Diana, Danielle, Leah and Rochelle.
