Great staff, busy place. I like to meet friends here, although you could easily go it alone and sit at one of the large pick nic style tables, and perhaps make a new friend. The staff and service is helpful- casual dining in or take out. Good salad choices, veg. options. Anything Carnitas (my favorite), and yummy drinks; fresca y horchata, and (cocktail or mocktail) if you're not a beer drinker.

It's okay for a quick lunch as we're not fans of beer so maybe you will enjoy it more if you drink. I had the cider mimosa, it's good. The breakfast tacos are average. My husband likes his tamales. You order and pay at the counter, there's not much customer service.

My grandson chose Frelard Tamales as the place he would like us to celebrate his birthday. It was a fun atmosphere, and the food was great. Being an older person in my mid 70s I was a little confused when I needed to use the restroom. There were three doors all marked plainly, gender fluid restroom. What has happened to the men’s and women’s restrooms?

It’s hard to find a good tamale with the right masa consistency. These tamales were the best! Tasty and moist. My mom got the shrimp tacos and loved them. Both dishes were delicious and nicely plated. The place was very clean with a relaxing vibe. Will definitely eat here again!

Chip strength is less than expected for the strong, stiff dips. Two members in our party, weak from a day’s toiling, plunged a chip into the dip only to have it break apart in their hand and drift away, turning to dust. Delicious, but would have enjoyed a heads up about the weak chips.

Food - 5 starsService - 2 stars (the Seattle freeze has made its way to Bellingham. Seriously what’s up with white men in their early 30’s in the restaurant industry having the worst attitude ever?)Atmosphere - 5 stars!Maybe shake up your workforce and cut loose some of the negativity. I’ve worked front of the house for 26 years .. I get it: we all have bad days. But when I see you 3 times and you’re more and more rude each time? Buddy you need to re-evaluate your career.Ok so what if there’s a bartender I want to fist fight?! ?

Great tamales and drinks! Sometimes the wait to order line can get quite long and sort of confusing, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying this cool new spot!
