Food was great !! I met a cool person and had a great conversation about music with them. I tried to buy them a drink and the server was so rude. Ignored me and acted like I was trying to get them drunk!! Just being friendly? Not impressed at all last time I spend a day off morning there!!

Thank you Stella for a kind dining experience. She made me feel like I was eating at home! I had the fish and chips. Chips were perfectly cooked and sweet n salty, yum! The fish was cooked perfectly but nothing remarkable ( kinda bland and mushy meat) Coleslaw was the best. Crunchy and seasoned perfectly.

Super slow service not a very clean place either 😒 I felt out of place the young college age students who were conducting some type of coming out party literally interrupting my peaceful dinner with political rhetoric about sexual identity I was just there for a meal and some quiet time after a busy business meeting in the area I will never be back again

Food was great. I got the chicken fried chicken and a Diet Pepsi. Good little spot in Bellingham. I think the service was lacking a little bit. Nobody ever offered to refill my drink or check on us after the food was given to us.

Usually I have had good experiences here, but recently it’s been terrible. Me and my boyfriend ate here, who are both brown/black/darker toned, and we walked in, waited awkwardly, then the lady pointed to the corner of the restaurant, telling us we can get our own seat, somewhere over in the corner.. we sat, awkwardly, then waited for someone to come up and give us service, yet we saw the girl (with flare colorful yoga pants, red/brownish hair, thin build? I believe her name is Cora M.) go and sit the other white people down, and walk them to their table, and have a short conversation with them, give them menus, while we awkwardly waited as we were first there.
We still haven’t had any menus handed to us or waters, and as the girl started walking away from the other costumers, we asked if she could get us some menus, as it was around 5-10 mins waiting with zero interaction.. She then grabbed them and threw them down on our table with an attitude and gave a dirty look. Disgusting behavior and was clearly obvious she didn’t want to help us first, wether it was a racist thing or just a bad attitude. And the cafe only had two other tables dining, so it was not busy. Pretty horrible racist service, and we had to leave and walk to find somewhere else to eat nearby..
Just a warning if you are a person of color, find somewhere else to eat! They will treat you like you are non existent.

Waitress was incredibly rude and off-putting, ignored needs and requests while serving others around instead. The waitress threw my menu on my table - and not by accident. I was shocked by this and disappointed. This is by far the worst service and attitude I have received while visiting Bellingham for the week. The waitress was a younger woman with shoulder length red/brown/tan hair. I was not able to catch her name as I was so offput. The cafe had a lot of charm, but unfortunately I (and those who I have warned) will not be returning due to the service I received.
Take a trip back in time at The HORSESHOE! It is SO nostalgic and can be enjoyed with your friends or family any time or any day. Great people watching, great atmosphere, great food AND great service.

My wife and I come into the Horseshoe occasionally. She loves the Biscuits and Gravy, I like the coffee. In 37yrs I have never once heard a negative word about this cozy little joint. The customer service is on point every time and not bad looking either. The atmosphere is like that old worn sweater that you just can't throw out and why would you when it's so comfortable. So if you find yourself downtown you're hungry, thirsty, cold or lonely come on in, pull up a chair and prepare to leave happy.
