AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!
You can get better food somewhere else!
WORSE customer service ever!! The owner Lee is a lousy human and doesn’t know how to run a business. I was double charged on my card and when I confronted them about it, they only gave me back a portion of what they charged me. I called to discuss this with the owner and he hung up on me. So if you want to avoid fraud, AVOID THIS PLACE

Wasn’t busy, seated but understaffed had to wait, floors were sticky, table was sticky, plates and forks dirty also had soap residue on them asked for new silverware and plates received another dirty plate. My Sons favorite place for dinner but our total was $250 for 5 people and that included gratuity of 20% added by the restaurant which we were unaware of and gave a cash tip $20 to the server. Food has gone up since last year but we left price shocked. The food demo did a good job but nothing like the one last year. Just going downhill sad

Nu was our chef and he was entertaining and showed interest in having conversation. He cooked our food well, my only complaint is that the lobster was over cooked. The new york steak was very tender and flavorful. For some reason we were brought our steamed rice like 40 mins before our food was fully cooked but we just simply requested fresh steamed rice when it was time to eat. Kind of annoyed that there was 20% gratuity added to our check on a party of two when our bill was already well over $100 without it but we made sure to tip the chef personally as the gratuity doesn't actually go to the staff.

Troy is a wonderful chef! He’s personable, funny, attentive, and serves us perfect food every time we visit. We like him so much we’ll request him in the future. If he’s ever up for a raise, I recommend giving him one!

Give Kao a raise! He was the best server ever and we had such a great time! The best service we've ever received and we were a huge party of people, an amazing experience with amazing food!!
The experience here was exactly what was predicted from the look of the building outside. Just an outdated family owned restaurant serving up your typical sushi restaurant hits. They got a little bit of everything for your Japanese food cravings. It's a neighborhood staple that'll disappear when the owners retire kind of place. One that'll be a fading memory for a generation or two. Places like Kyoto are staples of Americana at its finest. We ordered gyoza and veggie egg rolls as apps and 4 sushi rolls. 1. Cucumber and Avocado roll. 2. Las Vegas roll. 3. Crunchy Philly roll. 4. Firecracker roll. All tasted fresh. Which is always a concern for me when trying a sushi restaurant for the first time. Service was courteous, friendly, and had great timing.

Restaurantji Recommends
Based on the chef for hire sign on the front door, I believe they must be experiencing significant employee turnover. This definitely impacted the quality of the sushi. While the quality of the fish was good, they were extremely skimpy on how much was put in each roll, and attempted to cover it up by loading the rolls with rice. The attached image shows what a roll looks like on the menu vs what was delivered to our table. This roll only had the essence of the advertised spicy tuna and was also missing tobiko and green onion. For the high prices, this was unacceptable.
Plates were dirty (see attached image). The server tried to convince us the aforementioned roll was fine. The manager only agreed to comp it after a few conversations instead of offering to take it back and try again or just comp it immediately.
This was a failure on multiple levels of the staff. We will not be going back and we recommend not going unless additional staff has been hired. Bluefin down the street is a good alternative.

My steak was overcooked and scallops were burnt, with not a lot of flavor, there were egg shells in my rice, and shrimp was chewy. The chef at my table didn't cool well, everything is very sticky, very expensive for what we got, only asian people can cook Japanese food, they were not good, For what we paid I honestly feel robbed. Never going again.

Absolutely wonderful experience! I had quick and friendly service, and it absolutely helped me feel like I was having a wonderful evening.
I enjoyed the hibachi filet mignon with fried rice and mixed veggies, it came with miso soup and a nice little salad. The Spicy Yellowtail and Las Vegas Roll ended up on my plate and in my belly as well and we're delectable. I hope to be returning soon. The only reason I didn't post a picture is because I couldn't wait to dig tf in!
