When the chef drops his cooking utensil on the dirty floor, only to wipe it off and start cooking with it, I lose all hope.
Was told no sushi since chef was gone to get fish. So we ordered from the 6 items left on the menu.

Out of all the hibachi restaurants I’ve been too, this one has the best food.

So so yummy and our chef was absolutely amazing. One of the kiddos was nervous about the fire, and the owner was so sweet and reassuring to him, it was adorable. Always love coming here!

It's not fancy, but what a great experience! Everything was fresh, from the salad to the main course meats. The staff seemed to really care about our experience which is a big part of the visit to a Japanese steak house. 90% of benihana at 50% of the price. Recommended.

We came here yesterday for an early Mother’s Day dinner. We came for the hibachi dinner. The staff were all kind and service was good. I have to admit that the hibachi show was very boring but I suppose I would have that than a disappointing meal. I enjoy my hibachi meal. The taste was good but my husband said his steak was over cooked. I appreciate a place that doesn’t have their food soaked in only soy sauce. I feel like our meal was overpriced. 3 hibachi meals, an appetizer, no drinks, and 20 percent gratuity for $200 is a bit steep. Overall I would recommend this place for a try but not as a repeated place to go.

I want to begin by commenting that our chef Troy was amazing, respectful, entertaining, relatable and everything amazing. The food was cooked to our liking. We reserved a table for my daughter’s birthday celebration. We purchased a few items from the appetizers, hibachi menu, and sushi. It was for my husband and I and two children ages 9 and 12. When we order Asian food we usually like to order a few meals to share. We did just that. We ordered large portion meals off the menu. After receiving our receipt after dinner I was shocked to see a few added charges that I was completely unaware of. A “sharing fee” and gratuity. Unfortunately I didn’t notice the gratuity until I got home. I accidentally tipped them not knowing they already added gratuity. I also noticed they did not charge the menu cost for the scallops. Please note the images attached. I was charged not only $3.00 extra for scallops but they also did not give us the soup, salad, and rice that was supposed to come with it. I didn’t notice at the time of ordering because we last minute asked for scallops while the hibachi chef was grilling. I did not know the scallops came with additional items. We were also charge $1.00 extra for the sushi combination. This was not menu price. I feel completely robbed. Please review your receipt thoroughly if you dine at this restaurant. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone due to the dishonesty and disrespect.

Service is not great - food portions is definitely smaller than in the past, food was good but not worth $225 for two people. BEWARE of the 20% gratuity added on - now for parties of 2 people or more - will not be back - Saturday night at 6:30 the restaurant was empty

Kyoto's use to be great. My husband and I went last night, the food was over seasoned and the portions were small. Was not impressed at all for what we spent. Will not be going back.

Very mid, chef didn't do many or any tricks and made it very fast, we got steamed rice and it was never brought to us, meat was dry and not flavorful. It felt like we were forgotten. The gratuity was $35, I spent over $100 for an unmemorable birthday dinner with no dessert.

Floor dirty, bathroom disgusting, overall experience was a bit disappointing. My wife pulled out her chair to be seated, some brown liquid on the seat. We mopped it up.
The table chef did a good job, and overall the food was acceptable, but this place simply isn't what it once was.
Ordered sushi for an appetizer, it wasn't delivered until we'd finished our meal.
They added a 22% gratuity (party of 5), then asked for more without noting the 22% they had already charged us. I'm a good tipper, but if it's mandatory it isn't a tip.
The pictures are from the men's restroom. Sehome Bellingham Kyoto.

Shockingly bad food. We weren’t expecting a transcendent Japanese food experience, but this was ugly. Very low quality beef and unbelievably bad sushi — nigiri and maki rolls.
No wonder there was almost no one dining there on a Thursday night at dinnertime.

Took my wife to dinner here. She loves sushi. So I figured Japanese Sushi and Hibachi restaurant would be good. We showed up a little before our reservation and we were seated right away. But then we had to wait more than 20 minutes for them to even come and ask about our drinks. The restaurant was only about 1/2 full. When they finally did come for drink order, they told us they did not have sushi tonight. When they finally seated the rest of the people that we were apparently waiting for at our table, they did bring out the appetizers pretty quickly. Appetizers were a little bit disappointing for the price but that is how a lot of restaurants are these days. So I guess that's not really different. The chef that cooked for the Hibachi dinner was pretty good and the food was good. When we got the bill, they had automatically tacked on a 22% gratuity just for two of us, not a group. Pretty expensive for slow service that never came back to ask about a second drink until it was time to give us the final bill. Thats the part that got me the most. It used to be you got tipped well for good service. Looks like this place will just take the extra money when they want.

Went after work with a co worker and the atmosphere is great! The low fi Japanese music in the background was great! The food was delicious as can be! The hibachi chef we had was hilarious! He had a Naruto head band on (can't remember his name because I laughed the entire time lol) will be going back in the near future and support this restaurant! I Will be informing my friends about this place and how lovely and lively it is!

This is such a great restaurant! Everything was cooked to perfection. The chef was great with the kids (age 3 to 7), telling jokes, and having fun.
