Mambo Italiano – Bellingham’s carb-loaded love letter to your taste buds.
I’ve been here more times than I’m willing to admit to my doctor, and every single visit is chef’s kiss. My forever favorite? The creamy pesto linguine—rich, dreamy, and quite possibly the reason I’ll never fit into my “goal jeans.” My daughter swears by the mushroom fettuccine, and honestly, she’s not wrong.
Whichever way you fork it, you're in for something so damned good it'll make you rethink every sad jar of grocery store pasta sauce you've ever tolerated.
10/10 would eat myself into a food coma again.
Perhaps it was a bad day in the kitchen. My seafood puttanesca really missed the mark. This has been my go-to meal for the past 10+ years. Wait staff was either extremely inexperienced or did not care, but the result was this not very favorable review of service. I think I'll just stick with the takeout pizza in the future (or go elsewhere).
Our son goes to Western Washington University and we love to take him here. My dad is from Chicago and very judgmental of pizza and he says that they have the best pizza in the state of Washington that he is tasted so far. So that is huge praise. They have excellent mixed drinks and a very friendly staff.
The pistachio gnocchi is SO good. Not something I’d usually order, but so glad I did. I’m a little under the weather so I ordered take out, and they hooked it up with a free side of bread *and* a cookie 🥹made my day. Thank you!! ⭐️
I dont usually crow about restaurants, but the food here was the best Italian I have had in many, many years. Top 3 for sure...
First visit was two years ago and the food was not impressive at all. We held our thoughts and did not write a review.
Two years later, we thought to give it another shot, we were seated for 15 mins minimum with not even water. Hence, we just left.
There won’t be a third time charm.

They’ve been cutting costs on food for awhile now. Two years ago this was one of the best restaurants in Bellingham but now the cheap food really shows. Also, the waiters are uniquely rude. Overall, the price is just not justified by the experience.

We have returned to Mambo several times because of the food, service, and location. Great venue. Keep room for their desserts

Delicious alfredo with chicken and brocolli was creamy and buttery, I opted out of the gorgonzolla due to personal preference. Bread and butter is soft, warm, and hits the spot. Jalapeño Pinapple Margarita my husband said was delicious ? as well. Husband had the Shrimp scampi with capers and he said with was delicious. We will definitely be coming back.

I had a great time with my family here. We ate a dinner and I ordered a glass of red wine. Very good wine. Vongole pasta had tasty garlic taste sauce and just good with my wine. Chocolate cake was good. People working there were friendly. Great pasta restaurant

LOVE this spot. Tried an Italian place off State Street weeks before Mambo, and we wished we would have found this FIRST. We ordered the same & similar dishes as the other place (as comparison), and Mambo filled the void. Sure, it was busy, packed, loud [alive]…but it felt warm, comforting and like family. Staff was happy, helpful and nice. Food was amazing, as were the cocktails. Hands down BEST Italian restaurant in Bham. Plus, it’s located in Fairhaven, so a little post meal stroll is quite nice.

Split a Caprese Sandwich, picked the salad as side, and added a cup of the 'highly recommended' (thanks Jessica) Roasted carrot soup. This will be a 'go back to place' next time we visit Fairhaven. Wife remarked how good the pizza looked going to another table. Our Server was world class. Cozy atmosphere.
