Comfy chairs—just like everyone says. Drinks were solid. I had the Barrel-Aged Oldie, and it hit all the right notes. My wife had the Juicy Peach and said it actually tasted like peaches, which isn’t always the case with fruity cocktails.

Right in the heart of downtown, surrounded by local shops and a few chains. Parking can be a pain, but we got lucky about a block away.

It wasn’t too busy when we stopped in, which made for a relaxed vibe. Bartender was friendly and easy to talk to. They’ve got a kitchen, but we didn’t eat this time.

Good music, decent crowd, trivia on the TV if you’re into that. Definitely would come again.

Our party of three had a Moscow Mule, the Black Mancini, Barrel Aged Oldie, Maid Marion, and the Spinach Artichoke Dip as a snack. The Moscow Mule wasn't very flavorful but the other drinks were very good. I'm not a cocktail connoisseur and I have a preference for drinks that are on the sweeter side of the bell curve, so I enjoyed my Maid Marion but wasn't thrilled. However, my son really enjoyed the Black Mancini and Barrel Aged Oldie. The spinach artichoke dip with crackers was fine although not exciting (and not warmed); it wasn't made in the typical cheesy creamy style. In general I wish that Matthew's placed a higher priority on their food offerings, especially because I don't like to drink without eating, but as a vegetarian I was pleased with the number of items on the menu (relatively speaking) that are vegetarian. Service was excellent. We were VERY pleased that we could carry on a conversation easily. The bar was about 1/3 full when we were there at about 8pm on a Friday night. Overall, Matthew's isn't our top choice for cocktails (that's Redlight) but I'm sure we'll be back in the future.
