Port Fairhaven Fish N Chips

I was very disappointed in my cod fish & chips. With such high ratings, and growing up in the PNW, I had high expectations. The fish was rubbery, fried overcooked and coleslaw bland. You’d think a fish & chips joint located in an actual shipping port would have access to the best fish on the coast. If so, they don’t know how to prepare it. I rarely write critical reviews, but I would try elsewhere in town.

The halibut and chips were delicious! Fresh, crunchy, seasoned, and perfectly cooked! Even the coleslaw was good, cold, and fresh! If you're in Fairhaven, go down and give them a try, you'll be happy that you did!

Classic fish n chips spot, they do what they do well

Good place for fish n chips but a bit pricy for what you get. Skip the beer.

Mmmm..our party of 4 had halibut chips and the cod. Excellent, not a bit greasy, and the fries were crisp too. The coleslaw was not too sweet, so perfect! Best F&C so far in Bellingham, IMHO. The location is fun, too, it looks out on the bay.

Nice grab-and-go seafood restaurant that offers a variety options, indoor and outdoor seating, and stunning ocean views (on non-stormy days!).

Staff were friendly, and brought our order to the table when ready.

Two of us shared the three piece halibut and chips, which was more than enough food. Halibut was thick, flaky, perfectly cooked, and fresh. We loved that they go light on the batter since heavy batter tends to detract from the fish. Fries were tasty and crispy, but ever so slightly too salty. Coleslaw wasn’t great, BUT I didn’t come for coleslaw, it’s the quality of fish that counts, and they succeed!

Fish was fried to perfection. Fries were crispy soft on the inside, really enjoyed ourselves.
