Really nice atmosphere for a food truck! No beverages but you can get it at the beer for paws. The food was decent. I had the butter chicken and my husband ordered butter paneer both with garlic naan. We received butter chicken and chicken curry with regular naan. The butter chicken was excellent! My husband didn't want to wait so he ate the chen and said it was good...even tho he didn't order it.

We have an amazing Indian food at The Portal - Bellingham container village.Everything was excellent and very tasty. The butter chicken was the star among the vegetable fritters.

Meh. I got lamb curry with rice and there was no option for spice. If you like mild flavors, you will probably like the food here. The lamb tasted like beef. It was $18. They turn their tablet toward you so you can pick a tip, minimum 15% (I'm sure there is a "no tip" option, but it is hard to get to and hard to see, and you'd feel like an a-hole navigating the tablet looking for the obscure "no tip" option while they're staring at you.) So, I wait in a line with sun in my face to order. Then I wait to pick up the food. What am I tipping for when the mediocre meal already cost $18 +tax? I'm giving 2 stars (and not 1) only because I appreciate their entrepreneurial endeavor, and I hope that they do well, and am glad that other people enjoy their food.

This is one of my favorite food trucks in Bellingham! The food never disappoints. The owners are so kind and very accommodating and knowledgeable for allergies! Can’t go wrong with what you order but the fry combos are delicious ✨

My favorite Indian food in Bellingham. Their lamb curry poutine is awesome and they have TONS of dairy free and gluten free options! Can't wait for their store front to open. In the meantime, pay a visit to their food truck around town.

Very kind staff and great food. It's tasty and not too spicy so kids can enjoy it too. The butter chicken is great!

After reading the reviews, we had high hopes for this place. We were very disappointed when we got store bought naan (ordered garlic and got plain) and the butter paneer tasted like tomato soup with paneer in it. My husband got sick after eating what little food he did. Absolutely ZERO spice. Would never go back

Our lunch was delicious, and the pager let us settle in and get a drink during the short wait for food to be ready. Eating in the beer garden with a nice beverage on a sunny day was delightful.

This review is too long coming! Simmering Tava is simply the best Indian food. I have a ton of food allergies, and when I first met them at the Farmer's Market years ago they were quick to answer my questions and explain their ingredients. So few restaurants have any idea what's in their food, and it was immediately obvious they actually make their own recipes. Then during the pandemic they became a favorite delivery - warm, homemade comforting food amidst uncertain times. And the one time I had a problem they solved it so quickly and refunded me- true customer service and a genuine willingness to help. As always, I can't wait to go back. If you've never been and you're reading this review, go now!

Pros: I liked the area they were parked There was plenty of seating The garlic naan was good and warm Cons: The Butter Paneer was cold in the middle. The Potato and local Veg Curry was bland and potions of the rice were under cooked. They advertise water, soda, and other beverages on their menu, but they advised us that they don't have any. That seemed weird.

Best roti I've ever had!A fun food truck with some modern Indian dishes and some classics. The Lady was very nice and even offered to sub some mixed veggies in with my Channa Masala. The portions were generous but I'm ok without the tinfoil due to waste. There is no bathroom, garbage, water, cover for rain. However there was a fun backdrop of a doggie daycare around some tables/benches.

Simmering Tava is hands down my favorite Indian food in town (and frankly some of my favorite food in Bellingham, period). I have never had a bad experience with this restaurant. The food is always hot, fresh, delicious, and the service is some of the best. I have been a loyal fan since they were at the Farmer's Market years ago and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
