Disrespectful Employee Behavior – Deeply Disappointed.

Last Monday, my wife and I ordered a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino and a Caramel Macchiato through the Starbucks app. When we arrived to pick up our drinks, I politely asked a female employee for a thick straw, which was behind the counter. I have difficulty drinking Frappuccinos with regular thin straws because the cookie crumbles often get stuck.

As the employee was handing me the straw, a male employee named Allen abruptly stepped in, took the straw from my hands, and told both of us that those straws were only for bubble tea drinks. His tone and behavior were uncalled for and made me feel humiliated. While I chose not to confront him in the moment, when I got back home I immediately reported the incident to Starbucks’ Ethics & Compliance Helpline and was given a case number.

To Starbucks’ credit, the regional manager contacted me a few hours later to apologize and confirmed that there is no policy restricting thick straw use to bubble tea. She made it clear that Allen’s behavior was inappropriate and does not align with the company’s values.

I don’t know what triggered Allen’s reaction — whether it was my accent, a bad day on his part, or something else — but regardless, no customer deserves to be treated in such a disrespectful way. As a long-time loyal customer, this experience was deeply disappointing and disheartening.

I sincerely hope Starbucks invests more in employee training to prevent incidents like this from happening to others. Unfortunately, I will never return to this location again.

I go to Starbucks locations all over whatcom county and no other uses as much ice to fill cups as this one. Paying $8 for a cup of ice with coffee on the side…

It’s 4:50pm and there is only one employee working. Service was very slow because that one employee was also taking a personal call while taking orders, running the drive through and making drinks. Get off the phone and move with a sense of urgency.

The drinks are good, but the new eco friendly paper cups for cold drinks are terrible. Every iced drink tastes like paper. I unfortunately will be taking my coffee business elsewhere so I can actually enjoy cold beverages.

The bathrooms here are designed for two people before they started putting codes and deadbolts on all the doors to shaft homeless people. Labels on inner door of restroom instructs customer to lock deadbolt for privacy in spite of two person capacity and I must say I rather enjoy this because it enables me to take a dump like a king alone in all that space without bothering to close the stall door or worrying about any peasants interrupting me. Keep up the good work Starbucks #america

The atmosphere here stinks! Every time I’ve come to this location it smells like marijuana and people smoking fentanyl. The people who work behind the counter, incompetent and rather disrespectful. For example, frequently My coworkers and I have come here to get coffee in the afternoon and the attendance wanna know more about your personal life rather than understanding how to charge for the cost of the coffee.The best way to describe it is passive aggressive, work environment, and frequently the people who are working here are careless and they come across as snarky. It’s not a place that I care to bring my daughter to anymore because every time we walk in there, she also talks about how bad it smells and how the people look unclean in this establishment. I must fist at a public find another location to get coffee and stay away from this location. It’s also directly across from a camp city of homeless and drug users and frankly, you will see the drug user dealing in front of the camp.

Starbucks really needs to rethink their straws—they’re so cheap and flimsy! It’s frustrating when they fall apart halfway through a drink. If they don’t improve the quality soon, they might start losing customers who expect better from a brand like theirs.

To the people leaving one star reviews because they close the lobby early… have you seen the area this Starbucks is located?! It’s for the safety of the employees and costumers that the doors lock as soon as it gets dark.
