No way to heat up food after you buy it. No signage letting you know before hand.

Love their hot bar. They are organic, non-gmo and source as much as they can from local farms. Their grab and go items are also delicious and pretty reasonably priced! And don't forget their amazing and delicious desserts. Even if you're vegan, gluten and dairy free, their wide range of yummy treats have you covered!

Get a soup & salad combo for only $6! It comes with bread too (several choices).

There aren't many options for a quick bite available for people with GF allergies on a Sunday night at 7PM after a day of shopping in Bellingham, but Swan's overshot our expectations big time. Incredible food, fantastic service, and prices that left us in disbelief. We can't wait to come back.

this place is fantastic. I eat here at least once a week. Their salads are delicious and interesting and always changing, their lunch deals are cheap, and it's a great casual atmosphere to study or eat lunch alone. I've had their baked goods a few times and they're never anything short of fantastic.

GF options, it's in the Co-op grocery store had the best GF choc chip cookie I've tasted in a while. Cafeteria style, no free wifi for out of country folk that don't have a data plan for their smart phone, iPads, etc.

Sorry, but the Swan Cafe has gone down hill over the years. My last visit was the most disappointing experience ever. I had the three salad plate and soup and barely ended up touching my plate and bowl. All of the salads were not fresh. The pasta salad was over dressed and overcooked glop on my plate and the other salads had lost there potential crispness and were bland. The soup lacked flavor as well. I keep returning hoping for a delicious healthy option, but come away hungry and pissed at myself for paying for food I didn't eat. Please get it of ether Swan Cafe!

This is my favorite lunch spot in the world. I know there will always be at least 3 delicious vegan salads waiting for me, if not more. For $6.99 for bread and three healthy salads, it's the best deal. The hardest part is narrowing my choices down to three. Even my conservative, unhealthy family members make it a point to eat lunch here when in town.

This place was a little pricey for me when I was going to school in B'ham, but it was delicious times I did get to go. This is most definitely a niche cafe so if you're not veggie-inclined or open-minded, then you probably want to avoid this place. Some of my fave dishes I've had are the Baked Tofus, Broccoli Salad, and Chili. They rotate through their menu items, so don't expect to find the same thing you got last week there, but they will give you the recipe if you ask for it (though they're in restaurant quantities so you're going to have to use some math to cut it down). If you have a few extra bucks to blow and don't mind the hippie atmosphere, I'd recommend stopping in.

If you're looking for bland, uninspired and questionably coloured meals, look no further than the cold case at the Swan Deli. I have never seen macaroni come in a congealed brick of beige before, but by God, the Swan Deli offers it up in all of its bland, disgusting glory for about $4 a...brick..thing. But never fear! They ALSO offer tofu loaf and tempeh and questionable "Asian" noodle salad mixes that are either completely over-flavoured with..? bragg's? vinegar?...or horrifically bland and paste-like. The sandwiches are completely overpriced, but much more palatable. I have a hard time ponying up $7 for a sandwich with no meat, but the Pleazin Cheesin sandwich is occasionally worth the splurge. Skip the burritos. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Skip the burritos. The one redeeming quality here is the quality of the baked goods, from the ginger bars to the brownies to the muffins, they are blessedly full of balanced flavor and a lack of chilly soy products. But one cannot live on baked goods alone, so skip it if you're actually hungry. They make decent (not great...at all) coffee, so if you're there for a nosh, grab a scone and a coffee and just leave it at that. Your stomach and wallet will thank you.

This place is attatched to the Food Co-op so organic is definitely the driving theme. They serve espresso and pastries as well as different food items like pasta dishes, sandwiches, etc. The windows look out onto Holly and Forest street, so it starts the hub of the downtown scene. Moderate prices - usually under $10.
