All Canadians need to stop by this place for breakfast before heading south.Best, best, best brunch place in Bellingham. Highly recommend anything on their menu. Priced fairly with the quality and quantity of food they provide. Coffee is bottomless and they are generous with their refills. Fresh cream provided. We shared an egg benedict and salmon scramble dish and both were delicious. The potatoes was extraordinary!Service was friendly and super quick! Food could be quicker, but knowing how busy they are, a 20 minute wait is very reasonable. Will be back when we visit Bellingham again.

I haven't had a bad experience eating here. Their food is filling, tasty, and different than a standard breakfast joint. Only negatives are the wait times (today we waited about 35 minutes for a table for three of us) and the price.

Our first time here, food was DELICIOUS! We both had different benedicts, best hollidaise I've ever had. Service was great, super friendly and attentive. We came from almost an hour away and I can't wait to go back!

In 1946 the incomparable Lady Day record the jazz tune, “Sunny Side of The Street.” She sings, “Grab your coat and get your hat. Leave your worry on the doorstep. Just direct your feet. To the sunny side of the street.” I couldn’t have said it any better Ms. Holiday.Whether you find yourself with feet draggin or a hoppin an a skippin take a chance and step on through the great big birch door at the Birch Door Cafe.Soak in the jazz classics like they’re coming from the original vinyl. Transport back in time to your grandparents. Take a seat by the window and soak in the spring rays that WA so greedily clings to. Expect smiles and laughter amongst the patrons and staff on a mellow morning. You won’t be sitting for long before your first cup of brown nectar is poured, and don’t for get the fresh squeezed OJ. Now you’re getting the picture. The eggs Benedict is creamy. The pancakes are larger than expected, and the potatoes are stacked high like the Cascades. If that’s not enough though, and you need your ModSocks blown completely off, order the Apple Pancake. It’s fluffy, custardy, and sent from the Bellingham ferries astride a corgi directly to your woody table. So fly on in during a weekday and sit by the sun soaked windows. Listen to the local line crew talk about installs and outages, and hear the wait staff joke with one another. Or, best of all, just focus on the one you love and take in the wonderful meal before you begin your morning gear up.Quid Pro Quo though…The weekends are buszzzzzy so expect a 20 to 40 minute wait if you arrive on a Saturday or Sunday at 9-11am.There is no making reservations period…Sometimes when they bring the syrup it’s been freshly rinsed off and place in a small custard cup.(Thx) But, the water gathers at the bottom and if you’re not careful the water will drip on your food while you pour your syrup. Breakfast foul!C'est la vie mon amie. That is life my friends. That is life.

When it comes to breakfast this is the place. The biscuits and gravy were great. My wife had the eggs Nicole and they were so delicious! This is one of the places we always go when we are in Bellingham!

Great place! Eggs Benedict and biscuit with country gravy are magnificent! Kids loved the pancakes. Very good service and plenty of parking space in the back. It is a bit busy. I waited 25 minutes for a table. Strongly recommend this place!

This place used to be great!!!!! I went yesterday after I hadn’t been for a bit of time and was not impressed with the food at all…I got the mexican/Baja omelet with potatoes- potatoes were yummy, but omelet NOT soo much..very bland and mostly just egg. And prices had gone up to $19 for breakfast!!!!!Not worth the price and ontop of it I got sick to my stomach and don’t dare to eat the left overs I took home :// Really disappointed in this place and will likely not return again.

A bit cramped - the tables were extremely close together. To accommodate 5 people, they simply added a chair at the end of a table for 4.Server was extremely nice and food was great. A bit pricey, but good food.

Over the week long stay, we ate here three times for breakfast. The food was great each time, the staff were ok too, some are more freindly than others. The first time we were at a very small table and had a hard time with the two of us, better for just one person or just coffee date. The next two times we had a larger table that was better for the two us. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I order the blueberry french toast and a side egg/bacon order. My friend shared the blueberry dish and took half of her Cornedbeef hash back to the hotel. The beef was extremly tender and had a nice flavour. One time we also tried the salmon eggs benny it is was good as well. Coffee cups are small and refills were slow but not a deal breaker, you just have to flag someone down and ask. Bacon was thick cut and more like how I make at home- very nice, egg cooked perfectly to how I asked and the blueberry/lemon curd french toast was divine(real whip cream) . I apologize for not remembering the name if dishes. Overall, I would go back and suggest this resturant to others.

Wow. First time at this place and they hit it out of the park.Food was great, prices were reasonable, staff were friendly, as well as attentive but not annoying.Estimate of wait at front desk ("25-35mins" when we arrived about 9:00am Saturday morning) was bang on.A reminder I left at the front door that one of my party was having a birthday was noted and the staff did their thing at exactly the right time, without the need for any hints or reminders by me.These guys got it right. Well done.We had the Eggs Kory (recommended by server) and the French Toast
