I really tried to retrain my taste buds to appreciate authentically vegan/veg in nature. However, sometimes you just want a but or Ruben sandwich imitation. And the wild oat does an amazing job with recreation of the classics! Great cheesecake, too!

My sister's girlfriend has an extreme deathly allergy to dairy, so we assumed this place would be great for her as an all vegan restaurant. Although after one of our visits she did have a reaction that landed her in the ER. When talking to the nurse she had mentioned we were not the first people to have a dairy reaction to something at their restaurant. We had vegan cheesecake, a muffin, and a scone. I called them and asked if there could be any cross contamination and she assured me it was impossible. So please if you have a dairy allergy, still take precaution with this place.Dietary restrictions: Severe dairy allergy....was not safe to eat here.

The employees are really nice and everything I’ve eaten here has been divine! If you order a sandwich, I’d recommend getting the soup of the day with it, as well as a pastry before heading out?

Everything was very tasty! I had split pea soup that I very much enjoyed and my partner loved his breakdown burrito.

One of the ladies that was at this restaurant was extremely rude... it really turned me off to frequent this restaurant.

I have ordered their Philly Cheese steak and BBQ Beef, and both are so good. I'm excited to try more on their menu.

Most recent loves are the Reuben and the Philly sammies, with a side of soup (like tortilla). Daaaaang good! Same high quality as a former Colorado haunt, Watercourse. The Reuben actually haunts me. It's got this crispy grilled outside with all the meaty, yummy insides. With the Philly, you can get au jus for dipping.--------Fantastic comfort grub. Big menu. I was smitten by the biscuits & gravy and the Reuben. Can’t tell it’s vegan.

We drive over two hours from our home on the south end of Whidbey Island to go to Bellingham for breakfast at the Wild Oat before heading off to do other errands. We could run errands closer to home, but this little cafe has delicious vegan food and there isn't any place like it near us, so we make an adventure. We've had the pancakes, meatball sandwich, cinnamon rolls, cookies, tuna sandwich, the list goes on and on. It's a small place with only two employees (one that takes the order and one that creates the food) so be patient, it's worth the wait. These ladies do a wonderful job. We've only had great food and wonderful experiences while dining. And we always take a few cinnamon rolls to go for the next day.

This place was amazing! The Philly cheese steak was so flavorful and great texture and the blackened fish sandwich was just as good. The soup of the day we had was the peanut curry and goodness, we could eat that everyday. Overall one of the best vegan restaurants we’ve ever been to, will definitely be coming back whenever we’re in Bellingham/driving through. 100% worth the visit!Vegetarian options: All vegan!Dietary restrictions: Vegan

Loved this place. Had Gf BLT and my kids the GF grilled cheese. My non vegan parents liked their sandwiches and soup as well. Good service, very kind.

We travel from the south end of Whidbey to go to this bakery/cafe whenever we go up to Bellingham. It's a two hour drive from our home and we are excited to get to go a cafe where we can look at the menu and not have to ask, "do you have anything vegan"? Love this place. Friendly staff and the food is GREAT! We've had their tuna sandwich, meatball sandwich, scones, cinnamon rolls (always get them to go for a treat later in the day or the next day), pancakes, cookies. We even stopped there on our way to Vancouver, BC for a memorial service because we wanted to be sure we had a vegan option. Love this place, wish it were closer but we happily travel to dine there. Great job, ladies.
