I ordered a dirty martini at 8:20pm, and they didn’t have olives or vermouth. No biggie at first but for a Saturday night, with a full hotel/packed house, the bar / cafe closed an hour early at 9pm without warning. I was bummed when I returned at 9:23pm to find them closed. However, makes sense as they can still make money off their overpriced concession snacks for the desperate guest. No other restaurants in the area so pack a cooler accordingly & don’t rely on the bar / cafe. Hours are not consistent or as listed.

I really like the vibe here but I think it needs a little bit of upping the game. The cabins are pretty and nicely equipped, though I think they should provide an extra blanket or two, and I also think they should add some kind of lotion to the bathroom toiletries. When you get back from the salt water soaking tub/hot tub/plunge pool/sauna etc., and you take a shower, one's skin tends to be dry. I didn't bother to bring any lotion with me and ended up needing to buy some. It was troubling to me that so many people of the limited number of bathers (it's by appointment which is nice) left their towels or partially consumed glasses of water all over the area as well. Pick up after yourselves people! While I like the relaxed atmosphere, I think it would be appropriate to require shoes in the lobby/cafe area as well. Having said all that, the staff was very sweet. The maintenance team was helpful as well, our light by our door wasn't working and it made for a very dark homecoming. They got creative and fixed the light in the evening until they could make a permanent fix in the light of day. I like the fire pit area too, but as it's a gas fire, it's best to come prepared with a warm jacket or blanket. They had a nice selection of wine or beer for purchase in the lobby, and the food in the cafe was tasty as well. (There also some craft cocktails available at the cafe.) You can eat/drink at community tables, or at random seating in The lobby area or take it outside to your room, or one of the many little seating areas near the spa building if it's not too cold. The area (Bingen) was fun to explore, as was White Salmon. It's very close to Hood River as well so there's lots of cool areas to explore. One last word of advice, while the hotel provides ear plugs you may want to consider bringing a fan or a white noise machine, as there is a train track nearby by that is in frequent use and the train is required to blow the horn a lot when going through town. We brought a fan and didn't even notice it.

Great place for a me-treat. Spa is awesome, everything is clean and well thought out, from comfy hostel bunks to lobby and outdoor hangout spaces.

I've been to the Society Hotel twice now and really enjoy it. The room is decent (shared bathrooms) and the spa are is fantastic. I've been back just for the spa/sauna/ cold plunge! Most of the staff are very friendly and they make great coffee and snacks. Bring ear plugs because the train is loud and frequent.

Love this place! I'm so thankful we have this gem in such a small town. While I've never stayed in this place and couldn't even if I wanted to being a local, I love the bath house!! I come here anytime I want to use the sauna and hot tub. The beers I have tried are STRONG tasting, but definitely get you a good buzz wirh just drinking one ? I like to have a beer down before going in to the bath house to relax.

I live and work in hospitality in Portland, and for the same price of downtown Portland prices, I was able to enjoy so much more between the cleanliness, the location, the amenities, etc. It was incredibly surreal, and didn't feel like I was only an hour away from my home; SO rejuvenating! Hoping to visit many more times in the future. Great accommodations for single, couples and family travlers.

My wife and I celebrated my 48th birthday by spending some time in the king size Cabin with the double Hamic underneath a private patio area enclosed from the sun!!! Way chill... This was our first time here and the staff that we interacted with were very welcoming and accommodating. Being that my wife is a Elementary School Principal she totally enjoyed how they kept the Old School/Retro look but transformed it into a plush luxury, must see spa getaway!!! We highly recommend staying here and oh yeah....the Ice Plunge is a must!! - Oh, boy!!!

Coffee was amazing the first time, the second time the barista was under-trained and still learning so the espresso was over extracted but still better than most places!

Forgot my shorts so I had to buy a pair. The price said $25 but the attendant charged me 30. I said I thought these were 25. She said yeah, the price just went up today. It wasn't the extra 5 bucks it was the glib attitude that didn't gel with the copacetic scene.

Best macaroons of my god damn life. Coffee wasn't too bitter and was strong. Strong enough to make me feel like I could rewrite Shakespeare if my hands would stop shaking.Awesome place to hang out, comfy, quality aesthetics.Let's talk about the one point of feedback. Those chandeliers. Not all of them follow the same pattern of light up-light down. It's slightly asymmetrical. If you can unsee this the space is perfect. In future visits I hope the senior management of The Society can address this. Not a big enough issue to subtract a star.

This place was absolutely lovely. Beautiful area in a beautiful location. I enjoyed their spa area which had a cold plunge, sauna, and hotub. There is also a great coffee shop/bar along with a beautiful outdoor patio. Everything was very clean and well maintained. This is the perfect place for couples to get away and spend the weekend relaxing. Will definitely be returning soon.
