A perfect cake!

It was my son’s 1st birthday this weekend. We had a huge party for him! My sister in law made the little smash cake for him but we needed a cake for the guests. We ordered from here and PERFECT doesn’t begin to describe how wonderful it was. People came back for seconds of cake!!!! When does that ever happen?!? People who “don’t like cake” loved it! I’ve been getting texts for days from people asking me where we got the cake from. My friends and family will be talking about this party for years to come and the cake will be mentioned in every story.

This is the cutest bakery and has the nicest baker. We got a gender reveal cake for someone and it was amazing. They were able to customize it the way we wanted and the size/design we wanted. The price point is perfect too. Not overly charging like other bakeries in the downtown. Highly recommend.

Nice selection of mini cupcakes and cookies. I tried a lemon meringue, raspberry chocolate, Apple coffee cake, and a carrot cake mini cupcake and some salty butterscotch cookies! They were all delicious, but the lemon meringue and carrot cake were my favorite. The carrot cake had a great cream cheese icing on it. That can be hard to find in a world where everyone likes to take the easy route and make icing with powdered sugar leaving it overly sweet with a gritty texture. (Meaning not good) These guys don't fall into that category! I'll be back for sure!!

I come here every couple of months and get the assorted 1/2 dozen cupcakes and this place has never disappointed me. It’s always fresh, delicious and the icing is so fluffy and light. I also always try to incorporate the seasonal flavours everytime ❤️

Cupcakes were good, not great, but good. Good ratio of cupcake to icing. Icing was nice and light. I do like a little more of a cupcake though, they were kinda small.

Never go to Clever Chicks Confections. Extremely unprofessional, and overbooks herself, and will cancel, leaving you to scramble 30 hours before an event. Others have shared she's unreliable, and has canceled on them before. Well now she's done it twice to me. Save yourself a headache and choose someone reliable, who won't cancel on you, who won't lie, and will respond to messages.

A week before my daughter’s fifth birthday, I put in an order for three dozen cupcakes of varying flavors. I had my mom stop in to pick them up the day before the party, but when she got there she was told that our order had somehow slipped through the cracks and was never fulfilled. You maybe wondering how this ended up as a five star review, but what happens next is an act of true humility and stellar customer service. The woman working at Gracene’s immediately admitted to the error, apologized profusely, then got to work on making things right. Instead of leaving us high and dry, she got all of our cupcakes prepared (within a few hours!) and even insisted on hand delivering them to us, so as not to further inconvenience us by having to come back in. We are all human, we all make mistakes, but it’s how you make it right that shows your true character. The cupcakes were beautiful, delicious, and a huge hit at the party! We will definitely be repeat customers!

In February the shop has gotten a new owner, since the new ownership I was not paid regularly or on time. I decided to quit because I did not like working while knowing my boss owed me $1000 and feared that this would continue. I gave over a months’ notice to the new boss about my departure. My last day was June 1st, it took me almost a month to get my last paystub. I am now trying to get my tips that the owners owe me from February to June as the owner said she would have them with my last pay check. The owners will not answer my texts and so I have decided to leave a bad review otherwise my next step would be to go to the Washington state labor department to file a complaint. Just know that when you’re buying these treats the people behind the counter are not being paid on a regular basis :)

Absolutely loved these cupcakes. They are the perfect size and so delicious. The frosting is buttery, not overly sweet. The lemon meringue cupcake was so fresh and delicious. They were so good I went 2 days in a row. Would definitely make the trip out for these. Worth it.

Tried these as a special treat for a birthday party. Not sure what all the hype is about here; nothing special about these cupcakes. They're incredibly overpriced & the frosting is just too much; we had to scrape away half of it. Its a unique little place and nice people work there though.
