Such a beautiful place, the staff was fantastic! Will definitely come back.
I just called to inquire about booking a room and the front desk staff had quite a condescending tone. Will be booking elsewhere.
It is tired, worn out, and showing its age. I've stayed here four times over the course of three years, and the quality has consistently decreased. The paint is literally peeling off the building.
Once, the smoke detector above the bed shone a bright light onto my face. It made it difficult to sleep. Told it was common and they put stickers over it. This was the upgraded water view room Another time, the room smelled so dank and musty, I had to change rooms. That is a 50/50 chance that you will get a subpar room.
The employee at the coffeshop was nice. The resturant is nice but the menu is a bit limited.
I want to like this place and keep giving it a shot, but it just keeps disappointing. With its current downward spiral it just isn’t worth the cost anymore.
Everything was great. Menu in restaurant could have more options. Plus bugs in restaurant were bad.
Nice Resort
Highly recommended
I completely enjoyed myself with my stay here. The staff is very considerate and efficient. The facilities are fine. The views are great. The other guests tended to be warm and friendly.
We have always loved visiting this resort but we're very disappointed after our recent visit. It was busy and we had a few issues with room/ amenities which would have been okay.Unfortunately, the resort does not enforce no babies in diapers in the hot tub. There were several at a time. It's not safe for them or sanitary for guests. The water smelled concerning for bio waste. Needless to say we left the pool area and did not return. It set the tone for our stay.
A little disappointed in the room. No water in the room, which was odd for such a high price, no extra blankets. Soft bed. Half view. Very few kind staff members. Most seemed bored and annoyed. Main female bartender was not happy to be there and showed it. Waitress and busboy were fantastic. Good was eh for price. Unsafe wheelchair access in main hall. All- in-all, disappointed and wouldn't recommend.
We chose Semiahmoo resort to celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary. Location was beautiful and although the building itself was somewhat dated, it still had a charm. Guest rooms were huge and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Packers kitchen was delicious and staff were so kind to us and to each other. We didn’t use the gym or pickleball court but they looked great. The s’mores kit were cute. Since there was a burn ban in effect, we didn’t get the bonfire but there were mini fire tables to roast. The reason for the lower stars is because the resort was invaded by an enormous amount of children. We had to wait until the last hour of the pool to be able to use it because parents let their children run and take up all the pool space there (who can relax when kids are screaming?). The pool and hottub were nice, but the hot tub had no jets and the women’s sauna didn’t work. There truly were so many children running, screaming, taking up any outside space and amenities. The bike system was atrocious and we never had the opportunity to get them during our stay. There isn’t much to do at the resort unless you go out of the resort area. However, if you’re looking to just relax and stay in, go off season when the families aren’t there. It’s debatable if we would return.
Restaurantji Recommends
Great location and food.
The location and property are great, but it mostly ends there. I don’t know if they have new ownership but the place has gone downhill since we were here years ago multiple times. The buildings need a lot of work and repainting, the lawn games are in terrible shape, the grounds need a lot of maintenance (especially the grass by the beach), they didn’t turn over our rooms and just by passed both rooms somehow, there was no conditioner in the shower bottle when we got here, the drywall is wet and coming off the wall, and the fine dining restaurant that used to exist doesn’t seem to anymore. It’s really disappointing to see such an amazing place not be up to the quality that it should be, especially for the price. I doubt we will come again unless they renovate.
A very nice place. I DID NOT stay here. However they have a few nice gifts shops, the front desk lady was very polite and helpful directing my friend and I to the restaurant. I do think that the views are mainly in the back part of the hotel and are beautiful.
Service was 5+ Stars!
We just went to Semiahmoo Resort for the first time this weekend and cannot wait to come back! We live in Canada but it only took us about 30 minutes to get to the hotel. The drive and location is absolutely beautiful and feels so refreshing from our busy town. We only stayed one night but would definitely recommend staying 2 to take advantage of all the family friendly things the resort offers (seriously, there is so much to do!). The room was spacious, had an incredible view and was clean. Griffin went above and beyond to make our trip special for our 3 year olds Birthday. Thank you so much Griffin + Team, we will be back soon!
