This review is for the SeaView Cafe inside the hotel. A friend drove over from Point Roberts and wanted to see Semiahmoo Resort.

Adjacent to the front hotel lobby is a little “convenience store” with a charcuterie platter for sale in the fridge, that you can take to-go, but all the cheese was moldy, so we told the front desk agent and she removed it and apologized. There were only two and both were spoiled.

So we went to the SeaView Cafe and ordered their charcuterie platter. The waitress brought the platter, but no plates. We waited a long time expecting that she would soon check on us, but she never did, so my companion went and asked for plates. The grapes looked sad and old and some of the savory peppers were dubious colors, one grayish and we were afraid to eat it. Overall, the food seemed stale. The “toast” crackers crumbled, the cheese appeared dried out on edges, and it just didn’t seem fresh. It’s R E A L L Y hard to mess up a charcuterie platter, but they did. It was pretty skimpy on the cheese and meat and I was concerned by the poor quality - we left half of it untouched and my companion asked for a to-go box. I was embarrassed for my guest. No one ever checked on us. The place was nearly empty.

This was my first visit, although I live in Blaine - the experience was underwhelming and very disappointing. The impression I had was one of complete apathy.

A relaxing retreat, with great views and amenities.

Meh! Not the place to go for couples massage, don’t waste your time. We scheduled a massage for our anniversary. We had the whole day planned out and the night before they called to reschedule. That was fine, so we rescheduled almost 2 weeks out. We replanned our day and again the night before they called to reschedule. There was no apology for the inconvenience, nothing. Super annoying. We use to love to use this location as a getaway. Really glad we did not end up getting a room. Btw I did email them about week ago and have not heard back. My guess is my review will get someone’s attention.

I had a very good experience at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was polite and cooperative. Service was quick and professional. Location is also convenient and easy to reach. Food quality was good and hygienic. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel to others.

Such a great staycation for our family. Even with some fog we had a great trip, movie theater for the kids and a great swim was a wonderful reset for us all.

Lots to do at hotel. Its way from the town.

Update: As suggested, I emailed the address indicated in the hotel’s reply to this review, but they never replied.

I agree with the many other reviews noting the quality has gone down significantly since the hotel paired with Wyndham. We have been here numerous times over the past decade and our most recent one-night stay in Dec. 2025 was notably different.

The amazing views, relaxed vibe, and kind staff were the same. Our family still had a nice time.

However, this time our room’s coffee maker was filled with moldy grinds; the marshmallows in the s’more kit were so stale they were hard to roast; the pool was out of towels and the pool water was very cold; and most of the lobby/game room was used as overflow dining from the Seaview Cafe, which was the only food option. Even the Great Blue Heron Grill was closed, so everyone was kind of crammed into the lobby area with nowhere else to go. Given there was no kids menu at Seaview Cafe and the prices were very high for essentially eating takeout in the lobby (so cold we needed to wear our coats), we had pizza delivered and ate in our room instead. Dirty dishes were left uncleared for hours in the game room, and were still there when the Seaview Cafe closed. This was a bit gross and also meant we couldn’t use the game room as there was nowhere to sit.

I remember when this resort used to do things kids loved, like serve popcorn in the movie theatre. Packers had amazing food. The pool/spa area used to feel luxurious, but now signs about renovations have been up for ages with no apparent changes. Something is off. Wyndham is cutting corners, maybe because business from Canada is (understandably) down. I just hope the management is able to turn the place around before it goes too far downhill. It used to be amazing!

Hidden jewel of the North Puget Sound. Absolute fab getaway for both couples and families

The location was beautiful but very remote. In the Winter, that can be tough. I got there easily, from the Seattle area, but my friend came from Bellingham and got lost several times.

We had a lovely stay at Semiahmoo Resort and couldn’t recommend it more, especially for families. Traveling with a 6-year-old can sometimes be hit or miss, but she absolutely loved it — from the beautiful grounds to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
The resort felt peaceful and relaxing for us as parents, while still offering plenty to keep a child happy and engaged. The staff were kind and accommodating, and everything felt clean, comfortable, and well cared for. Even with the cooler weather, the setting was beautiful and made our stay feel special.
It was the perfect balance of family-friendly and relaxing, and we left feeling refreshed with great memories. We’ll definitely be back.

“Clean rooms and friendly staff. “Good service and nice location

The place seems very understaffed. It's the trash cans were full. The spa bathrooms were dirty. The sauna was disgusting. The service was slow. The breakfast was late.
And everything was extremely overpriced, our family of 4 spent over a $120 on a very unforgettable dinner. I was not a fan of this place.

Welcome desk persons are very kind and problem solving skills are incredibly good. Young boy And young lady was very helpful to move my mom’s room to closer room to entrance. They there for me when I needed most. Thanks 😊

A nice location. Nice beach. I’d prefer something without a view of the city, but it wasn’t odious. The room was quite large. The bathroom was a bit shabby with a nonflat, nonlevel floor and doors which did not fit well. The bathroom door would not latch. The bed was very comfortable. Drinks and food at the Seaview cafe were very expensive and unremarkable. I didn’t try Packers or Blue Heron. Other options are in Blaine. I didn’t try any of the spa services. Service was good.

I don't understand how in a resort like this you guys don't have any free water bottles in the room. This is almost zero cost for your company. But I don't understand why something like this is so difficult. You have water fountains with water that tastes like pool water all over the resort but this is pretty disappointing

Also you have new delta shower faucets that have absolutely no pressure and tiny amounts of water coming out so that's weird

The staff are really nice and friendly, and the result has a really nice vibe, and I really enjoyed the hotel itself. Just thought that these small things are pretty much unacceptable in 2025.

Also it was 32°F when I stayed there this weekend. It was me, my wife, and my daughter. There is a single thin blanket that is probably 1 cm thick. I asked for three extra blankets and they brought me two thin blankets ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
