C J's Deli & Catering

This place is the jewel of Bonney Lake, my daughter and I’s favorite lunch spot. The food is to die for and the atmosphere is so comforting and homey. The scratch made soups, sandwiches, salads, cookies, and pies are worth every penny.

Currently in the middle of a kitchen remodel, we decided to grab takeout from CJ’s since our neighbors highly recommended it. We’re truly disappointed. Pastrami sandwiches and Philly cheesesteaks are known for being packed with meat (that’s why we ordered them), but our pastrami had a measly one or two slices, and the Philly was no better. When customers pay nearly $30 for two sandwiches, you should do better. It’s frustrating because the flavor was there. I also hate to criticize a local business, especially since I’d rather support them over a chain like Jersey Mike’s, but I’m posting this in hopes other customers know what to expect.

I was surprised at the size of the sandwich for the price…over $17 for a small croissant sandwich and a bag of chips…yikes. I guess that’s just how it is nowadays…

BUT, once I took a bite, I no longer cared. I grew up in NY and struggle to find good delis here…this is by far the best sandwich I’ve had in WA.

I’ll def be back to try more!

My daughter and I grabbed the French Twist sandwich to go and it DELICIOUS! We will definitely be visiting again to try different options!

Not sure why it took me so long to try…. I had the blooming roast beef and lemon pie. Holy wow!

My wife and I both love this deli. Wife's favorite is the figgy sandwich and mines the BLT with extra bacon. The prices are medium to high, but with fresh everything ingredients and your sandwiches come with chips no extra charge, it's well worth it. And well worth the extra drive from Lakewood. Wife says the Carmel Pecan cookie worth the trip by itself. We will definitely be going back each time we'd like a great sandwich and dessert. my husband and I live in Kent but we went down there because I was getting my hair done. we wanted to grab lunch after and just got lucky that we found this! it was exactly what I was looking for. I had the San Diego Sandwich which was a croissant with turkey and sprouts which I love, it had some kind of honey mustard in it and was really good! I also got potato salad which I thought was really good too. we liked the cute industrial decor and general small-town atmosphere. I love Little gems like this!

Baked potsto soup is everything I wanted it to be and nothing I didnt want it to be. 10/10

I've ordered catering from CJ's three times now: twice for groups of about 80, and once for a smaller sales group. Each time, CJ's perfectly executed the order.

For the most recent order, each person bought something different, including hot sandwiches with some substitutions, like no cheese on a Philly cheesesteak. I provided a spreadsheet and a pickup time. CJ's staff members labeled each order with the person's name. Every order was spot on.

We also ordered group side dishes of baked potato salad and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was piping hot when I picked up. It was the best mac and cheese I think I've ever had. CJ's also provided chocolate tartlets, which were the perfect size for a small sweet bite. The crust was deliciously flaky.

CJ's is always wonderful to work with. I look forward to doing business here again. They have a sense of caring you just can't get elsewhere.
